3 Outside Interferences That Could Change TLC

This Sunday marks the last PPV of 2015 for the WWE. All titles on the line; tables, chairs and ladders in hands, the WWE superstars and divas will try to close the year on a high note. The WWE fans are prepared for a number of swerves in the main event where Roman Reigns will most likely battle not only Sheamus, but his entire League of Nations army as well. But with all the recent turns, that might not be the only fight that could have its fate decided by an outsider. Let’s look at the top 3 outside interferences that could change the expected course of events.

  1. Zeb Colter Brings the Gold to the Real American

We can all agree that Del Rio and Zeb Colter’s partnership had no value beyond the initial surprise effect. The MexAmerican gimmick was not only dull, but also racist, offensive and overall – completely inappropriate. Therefore, the WWE Universe welcomed with relief the break-up of the duo this past Monday on Raw.

The general belief is that once freed from the atrocious gimmick he debuted with, and with the support of the League of Nations, Mexico’s Greatest Export will now have a solid, long run as a dominant US Champion. The logic behind this is that the WWE Creative realized Del Rio and Colter together didn’t work well and scrapped the entire MexAmerican storyline, including the rivalry it produced.  That would mean an inglorious loss for Jack Swagger at TLC, pushing the Real American back to the WWE land of obscurity, situated just at the doorstep of being future endeavoured.

However, Zeb Colter parting ways with Del Rio might have a different purpose. The American patriot vs. the foreign heel with the US title on the line is an archetypal storyline in the WWE history. In Del Rio and Swagger’s case, though, the balance of forces was lost because of Zeb’s support of the champion. The truth is that Del Rio can handle himself on the mic and Swagger can’t. Giving a spokesperson to the guy who’s better at promos was a bad choice. Then again, if Zeb Colter was to jump ships, instead of simply disappearing, Swagger’s future could become much brighter.

An interference by Zeb could take Swagger to another US title run. This would be a huge upset for Del Rio, who won the championship just over a month ago. This would make Alberto bitter and even more vicious than before, brining real heat into the rivalry.

  1. Kevin Owens Gets Aid From The League of Nations

The League of Nations is expected to somehow influence the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match but Sheamus might not be the only champ to benefit from his powerful friends.

The IC title feud, unfortunately, didn’t get the attention it deserved. It was always overshadowed by Roman Reigns’ issues with the Authority. The rivalry should have been in full force at Survivor Series but it took a back seat, in favour of the WWE title tournament that was set up to help Roman get to the top. Then, instead of focusing on Owens, The Lunatic Fringe put all of his efforts in helping his Shield brother and the Usos fend off the League of Nations. In the end, we were left with one segment of provocative popcorn eating to get the feud going.

Not having built up Ambrose as a legitimate threat, the WWE would probably book him to come up short after a decent match against Owens. Even if the Lunatic Fringe is going down, there are ways to soften the blow and make his loss meaningful for the champ. Instead of giving Owens a clean victory, the WWE could provide him with some assistance from the League of Nations.

Owens is Canadian, a heel and a champion. Triple H himself tried to recruit him even before Survivor Series and the IC champ had nothing against the idea. Owens fits perfectly the requirements for joining the League of Nations. In fact, it seems as if it’s only a matter of time till he gets added to the group. Doing that at TLC would accomplish two things. First, it would assert the dominance of the stable. The League of Nations would show that they can be anywhere, at any point and give power to whoever they decide to recruit. Second, it would be a logical continuation of the punishment that Ambrose receives for his unwavering loyalty to Roman Reigns and it will help him save face in defeat, maybe even get a rematch.

Therefore, at TLC, Kevin Owens is likely to climb the power rankings with a little bit of help from his very powerful allies from the League of Nations.

  1. Can the Lass Kicker Counter the Nature Boy?

The feud between the jealous traitor Paige and the nice girl Charlotte was pretty much straightforward until the Divas Champion suddenly decided to dig deeper into her Flair roots. As Charlotte inexplicably started screwing Becky Lynch over at every corner, her face status was quickly erased. The girl, who didn’t want to be treated differently because of her father, finally embraced her lineage, as she started dragging her dad everywhere as a helping hand.

With the notorious Nature Boy in Charlotte’s corner at TLC, it seems inevitable that Paige, who enters the match as a tweener, will fall victim to some sort of shenanigans. An outside interference in this title bout is certain. However, Ric Flair might not be the character who’ll decide the faith of the championship.

Becky Lynch’s been on the receiving end of Charlotte’s trickery more than once. From her perspective, Paige’s betrayal might now look somewhat justified, so if Becky takes Paige’s side, the fans will accept it. Then again, Becky wants in the title picture, as well. She wouldn’t get involved  in the match to help Paige. She’d do it to get noticed. What better way to catch the champ’s attention than to cost her the title?  On the following RAW, Charlotte will be angry, Paige will be self-centred and condescending towards Becky and Becky, well, she’ll simply own both of them in the ring, standing tall, with the title in hand at the end of the segment. A PCB triple threat  for the Divas Championship to open the 2016 PPV season doesn’t sound like a bad scenario.
