Backstage Concern Over Another Top WWE Superstar Leaving When His Contract Expires

alberto-del-rio

There was talk at Monday’s WWE RAW that Alberto Del Rio is reportedly making noise about leaving WWE once his contract expires.

Del Rio has been frustrated due to going from a top guy on the SmackDown brand to someone who is fed to Batista. There’s a feeling among that with Del Rio already having talked about retirement, his age and the fact that he had success in Mexico, maybe it’s time for him to leave and be happy rather than hang on.

There is no word yet if Del Rio has started working on a new contract but there is at least some concern over his future after the talk at RAW on Monday night.

    Good riddance if so.

    • kthanxyousuck

LOL right? I really don’t see any concern at all!

    • Sabino Hernandez

U say that, but he is a good wrestler and makes others look good. He might even Make Batista look good

      • Dissonance

I just always found him so stale and boring in and out of the ring. Good worker to an extent, knows how to put on a match or puts people over and makes em look good, sure. But it got to the point where I FF or stop paying attention when he’s wrestling. Opportunity for someone else though too. Next man up.

      • Mario Cardone

Sometimes we might say we don’t want a wrestler around, then when they are gone we miss them.. that is 100% not the case for me and this guy. I thought he might’ve had something before he ever won any world titles, then it was downhill from there.

      • JR Texx (Jamie)

It’ll take more than Del Rio to make Batista look good.

  • LGFFan

i generally can’t hate the guy to be fair, and i’m not fan of his either.
i think he has achieved a great deal in WWE and he actually has handled himself pretty well, but if he leaves then really his run was not that long at all, nothing sad to see go away.

  • Bryan Thomas

With him going that just makes room for a new main event heel. I say ambrose or sandow

    • RVD4Life

Definitely Ambrose.. dude can talk, and he’s decent In the ring

      • James Humwood

        decent is an understatement

  • WWE RaZaR

Really not a fan of Del Rio at all. I wouldn’t be overly upset if he left. His style is just boring to me, and he botches the most out of any “top” superstar.

  • Raihan Khan

i agree, everyones leaving, tnx wwe :(

  • Raihan Khan

del rio is an amazing wrestler even though he is boring now, he wasnt back in 2011, hope he gets that heel run again,, he is a boring heel now, like randy orton, tnx wwe for damaging their characters

  • Clay Keithstone Merritt

Dude is a great wrestler, but lets be honest…… No matter how much denial WWE is in, you have to be able to have mic skills in today’s WWE where its more TV oriented than wrestling oriented and Del Rio doesn’t have that and he’s proved it by going from heel to a face then back to a heel. It just doesn’t work. Plus the dude is old. 36. He’s a bit too old to just expect a major push when his character is so boring. He’s made enough money to leave WWE, he has a family as well, I would expect him to leave.

    • Richard

I’m was never a fan of him, Batista does not have mic skills plus he is 45 and he is getting pushed! WWE have it all wrong

      • Clay Keithstone Merritt

Yeah, but Batista has a MARVEL film coming out in August. All skills go out the window if you have a mainstream movie coming out.

  • James Humwood

I hope del rio doesn’t leave his gimmick may suck but he’s an excellent wrestler and who wouldn’t be pissed about having to job to a scrub like Batista though if he did leave maybe like Bryan Thomas said it could make room for a new main heel talent which I hope would be Ambrose

  • Mario Cardone

lmao goodbye del rio, please leave

  • FearTheSpear

damn that sucks. Del Rio isn’t great on the mic but he’s a solid wrestler and his rivalry with dolph was freaking incredible. I think his character went a little downhill when they separated him from Ricardo. Someone like Del Rio needs a valet in order to connect with the crowd so WWE definitely messed up his career. I don’t blame Del Rio if he leaves, it’s not like WWE is using him correctly or making wise decisions about his character anyway.

  • Napoleon Blownaparte

    Eh. No big loss.

  • theripperdannyb

He’s a good worker, and great for the Latino relations, but most importantly he’s reliable, barely has issues and hardly gets injured. I prefered him as a face simply because he began to incorporate Lucha into his style, still Barrett might finally get a shot if he goes.

  • Anon

Top 5 in terms of talent; Such a shame if he does leave.

  • JR Texx (Jamie)

At least he’s been on TV.. oh well, don’t think I’ve ever found him that interesting to watch.

  • Zach

I really enjoyed Del Rio for awhile after his debut, but I have been bored with him ever since he fought Sheamus for 4 consecutive PPV’s. Won’t really be too upset without him.
