As PWMania.com previously reported, reason why Undertaker returned at a house show instead of a surprise on Raw is because he was “testing the waters” to see if he could actually work a quality match for WrestleMania.
Vince McMahon and Triple H also wanted to see how Undertaker’s shoulder held up during a light match before he officially committed to WrestleMania. (Photos of the Undertaker’s return)
Its been instantly assumed that Undertaker’s house show appearance means he is back and will be working WrestleMania, however his WrestleMania status was still up in the air prior to his match on Saturday. The Undertaker’s shoulder is still giving him a lot of problems despite him undergoing a number of surgeries over the last year.
A source on the WWE writing team said Undertaker’s return was kept very quiet and only a handful of people within WWE even knew about it. WWE decided to go public with the story when the match was over and Taker was happy with his own performance.
Aside from Undertaker looking a little out of shape, fans were chanting “this is awesome” and “you still got it” during the match.
Our source tells us that the Undertaker will be wrestling at WrestleMania 29.
