Backstage News On CM Punk & Daniel Bryan Feuding With The Wyatt Family

The original script for Monday’s RAW reset had Daniel Bryan and CM Punk going at it with The Shield, instead of The Wyatt Family.

WWE officials felt that they needed to pump up The Wyatt Family to get more out of them, and give Bray Wyatt something big because they are high on his character. There’s a feeling that WWE went the wrong way with Bray and needed to go back so they put him in a competitive situation with Punk and Bryan to help get him over.

If anyone can make the Wyatts look good, its Punk and Bryan. Wyatt seems to me though like the eventual goal HAS to be the world title to vindicate his cult – is that just me???

    • Austin Shaw

Bray Wyatt with a world title? No way!

I don’t know. Some guys don’t need titles. Titles can sometimes be bad for a character too. I don’t know about anybody else, but I always thought Undertaker looked weird with a title. And he certainly never needed one to make him legit.

      • Austin Shaw

Yeah but Bray Wyatt is a joke…

        • http://www.ring-rap.com/ Jay Ciaravino

How do you figure? They got a good gimmick going. I think the Kane story line ended without a spark, but that’s the writing, not the talent. Did you make your mind up about the Undertaker 6 months after his debut? Give the guy a chance to develop the character.

          • Austin Shaw

The reason I do not like the Wyatt’s is because they are really just a fat weird “scary” version of the shield. Three guys who attack another single superstar for no reason… Uhm Sheild?

          • http://www.ring-rap.com/ Jay Ciaravino

I’ll agree on that point. Bray Wyatt would have been better served if he were brought in alone. If for no other reason then to avoid the comparison to the Shield. Then he could have recruited from within the current roster. That would of been more interesting. Wondering every week who was going to get brainwashed by the cult leader.

          • Austin Shaw

Never thought of it like that but I like it. Would have been a much better way of doing it. Also, the other two Wyatt’s just do the dirty work, Bray just comes in for the kill and will get the PPV matches. When I see Bray on the match card I just look right past it. I don’t know why but, as of right now the story is uninteresting to me completely.

          • http://www.ring-rap.com/ Jay Ciaravino

And if what everybody is speculating is true, that the “devil” is Mr. McMahon, then I think it will ruin the whole concept of Bray Wyatt. Why would a cult leader follow direction from someone else? I thought the same thing when Shield was acting as personal security for Triple H. Kind of took away that rogue feeling of the group for me.

          • Austin Shaw

I agree. The story becomes more intense when they are not under control or authority. Such as now, all The Shield does is step in to protect HHH, Steph, and Orton. Everyone knows that is what’s going to happen… BORING

          • http://www.ring-rap.com/ Jay Ciaravino

They really threw me through a loop on Monday when Ambrose was “forced”, as Michael Cole put it, to defend his title. If he’s a corporate hand, then why would he be forced to defend the title one night after getting his chin split? Sometimes I think the writers don’t even watch the show.

          • Austin Shaw

I’m thinking about going into Dramatic Writing and if I don’t write movies or screen play I am going to find a way to write for the WWE no kidding because the whole Del Rio story made me more mad than anything else. I could have written something 10x better than that crap!

          • Austin Shaw

But I have also heard rumor of HHH vs McMahon at WM30 so is this a possible set up?

          • http://www.ring-rap.com/ Jay Ciaravino

God I hope not. At least not with those players. Maybe if they go the same route as McMahon vs. Trump and have some guys do the fighting for them. I think Vince is a bit old for in-ring action. Triple H could hang, but Vince?

          • Wrestling-Dog

Agree. They missed a trick by not having Kane come back as Bray’s brainwashed sidekick.

          • http://www.ring-rap.com/ Jay Ciaravino

I thought it was a given that he’d come back as part of the Wyatt family. Instead, they bring Kane back like nothing happened to him and turned him into Stephanie’s henchman. Like I said, i don’t think the writers watch the show. It’s like the movie Clean Slate. They wake up everyday with no idea what happened the day before.

  • Wrestling-Dog

So do we assume Brock will be at SS?
Why would they tie up the 2nd and 3rd biggest stars in a tag feud, if they haven’t got anything big planned?

    • Austin Shaw

Not a bad time to bring Brock back. Has there been any word of his return though?

      • Wrestling-Dog

I don’t think so, don’t see who his opponent would be either, just an idea!

  • SemajTheSellout

This is great for a few reasons. 1) This keeps Daniel Bryan busy until it’s time for Royal Rumble 2) Punk needs someone new to feud with, and Bray would be such a great verbal adversary 3) The Wyatts get a serious bump from two of the most respected workers in the business 4) We all know who the Devil Bray is referring to…. Mr. McMahon. Sometimes his ideas are a bit dumb, but he is always appreciated on TV, personally.

I can’t see anything being wrong with this. Hopefully instead of Show vs Orton, it’ll be Team Show vs Team Orton though. I can’t see what WWE would gain from that title match.

    • johncenaisdaman

      the devil is HHH

      • Wrestling-Dog

        Interesting.
If the devil if HHH, then where does that leave The Shield? As they are HHH trio at the moment …
Do you turn The Shield face or fade them out of the story?

        • Austin Shaw

I like the way you are thinking. Shield vs Wyatt’s would be very interesting.

  • Austin Shaw

The Wyatt’s were Triple H’s idea. He is pushing them. The Wyatt’s are an outcast version of The Shield. The Wyatt’s are getting two BIG thumbs down from me.
