Backstage News On Possible Brock Lesnar & Daniel Bryan Feud, Lesnar vs. Cesaro Latest

brock-lesnar-3

PWMania.com reported that Brock Lesnar vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE World Heavyweight Title was not penciled in for SummerSlam but there was one idea going where Lesnar would win the title at SummerSlam, only to see Money In the Bank winner Cesaro cash in and take the title from Lesnar.

Obviously everything is up in the air with Bryan’s status for Money In the Bank on June 29th but word this week is that Bryan vs. Lesnar is indeed one of the long-term plans right now for a SummerSlam main event.

The Lesnar vs. Cesaro feud, which would be part of Cesaro’s babyface turn, would take place after the Bryan match at SummerSlam.

Cesaro needs to stay with Heyman because he is weak on the mic. If they are going to do Bryan vs Lesnar they need to do it as Wrestlemania. Maybe they can use Summerslam to set that match up. Neither Bryan nor Lesnar can afford to lose to the other clean right now.

    • Duckets

I disagree. Heyman doesn’t do as much for Cesaro as he did for Punk/Axel/Brock. If anything, Cesaro doesn’t need Heyman as much as the E thinks he does. Thats just my opinion…

      • jmull

I agree that he doesn’t do much for him right now. He’s too busy talking about fucking Brrrock Lesnnarrrr! But he could be a legit asset for Cesaro if WWE would push him like he deserves.

        • https://twitter.com/HPLoveshaft H.P. Loveshaft

Seems pretty obvious they are building towards Cesaro harboring resentment towards Paul and Brock for putting all the focus on Brock.

      • Wrestling_fan

Yeah, somehow it has become more about Paul Heyman than Cesaro. And he was way over with the universe before Heyman as well. Also, I’ve noticed he has started using the swing a lot less after joining Heyman!

  • Jason

AGAIN! For lesnar to lose within minutes would make him look weak. and for someone who got the rub to end the streak at wrestlemania, Putting Lesnar in this situation is bad for business. and although it was to make Heyman have a legacy of the best manager in history, this would make him look bad and the rub and the hype of Lesnar and Heyman breaking the streak will be over. WWE has a history of killing things. Including Ryback’s Character while putting him in a situation with the WWE title when it was clearly going to be dropped to the rock at the rumble that year. Ryback never recovered from this and ended up in the midcard. Putting Lesnar and Heyman in this situation will only extinguish everything they gained at Wrestlemania 30.

    • tobimobi

Wait a minut Ryback has a character? Why doesn’t he show it? :-D

      • Jason

He does show it. Since his gimmick went straight to hell, they ended up giving him this “Bully” bullshit after awhile and he now remains sinking

        • tobimobi

It was just a joke. I know Skip Sheffield has character I saw his tryout for tough enough when he got injured and kept going he got a dev contract for that. It’s the Ryback thing that justnever got to me. It’s like the miz he’s really awesome awesom on the mike with everything he does that isn’t scripted by the wwe. Wish they would let the guys have a little more freedom or get some influence in what they say and how.

          • Jason

Thats where NXT comes in. they give them more time to develop get the influence they need before making it to the main roster. and thats how they repackaged people like Husky Harris into Bray Wyatt. Ryback was good as a face because “feed me more” got over really well. but as soon as they put him into a Title situation that sunk him all in levels with Loss after loss, and then turned him heel and now teamed him with Axel. Ryback needs a desperate overhaul and he needs it bad.

      • https://twitter.com/HPLoveshaft H.P. Loveshaft

He does on Twitter, at least. And, he was pretty good on guest commentary a couple weeks ago.

    • jmull

I agree with you, but if Lesnar wins a long, greuling match against Bryan and Cesaro (or whoever) cashes in the briefcase, Lesnar does not look weak since he wasn’t cleanly beaten.

      • Jason

Look at it this way. WWE has shown that a champion who was beaten down to appear “weak” still turned around to retain. Thus Example: John Cena(World Heavyweight Champion) Vs Damien Sandow(Smackdown MITB) (Plot: Even Though Cena was not in a match, Sandow attacked Cena’s repaired arm which he just had surgery and rehab on, making cena look weak enough to cash in. Making it LOOK like cena was just in a full match) So in away since Lesnar is a fighter, in actuality if he does do a full match against daniel bryan, comparing size of both Lesnar will not look Weak after that match. And after the greuling match he had at WM 30 with The Undertaker, Lesnar can take allot and still emerge Victorious.

        • jmull

Good point, but if whoever is cashing in sneaks up and whips his ass with a chair or something and knocks him out. . .

          • Jason

paul heyman can get involved. he has a nack for that

      • https://twitter.com/HPLoveshaft H.P. Loveshaft

It would be easy to make Lesnar look strong in this scenario. He fights a long match with Bryan, gets sidelined by Cesaro, then holds his own and gets in some good offense after the cash-in before finally losing.

If Lesnar didn’t absolutely need Heyman, I’d opt for Heyman and Cesaro plotting against Lesnar…thereby cementing Cesaro as a heel and turning Lesnar face.

  • Monkey D. Luffy

    WTF?
Lesnar should face Bryan at SummerSlam in a gruelling main event which puts both wrestlers on their maximum.. Lesnar should win.
Bryan Should use his rematch clause at MITB. In a 2/3 Falls count anywhere to drain out both competitors. Paul Heyman would tell Cesaro he would become Champ one day, and promises him that. So when Cesaro wins the MITB briefcase, and Lesnar/Paul Heyman vs Bryan finishes, Cesaro hould use the opportunity to cash in. Obviously Lesnar would still have some fighting left in him to throw a couple of moves, but Cesaro would get the upperhand in the end. Paul Heyman would be devastated but still neutral for both men since they are both his clients and atleast one of them has the gold. However this leads to tension between the 2 and Heyman trying to neutralise it until they have a match in the next 2-3 PPVS with Lesnar probably winning. So he won’t look weak

    • Mark Long

MITB is before Summerslam btw so the rematch would be at Summerslam rather than the other way round :) but I agree with you in principal

      • Monkey D. Luffy

        thanks for the correction

    • jmull

That might work IF Lesnar had that many dates. They’re saving his dates for Wrestlemania season.

  • codys moustache

This is such a mess of a situation. Bryan was meant to be a fighting champ leading into summerslam, finally the authority call for lesner and he beats bryan. However I don’t think lesner should lose till mania

  • xnyer

Why the BIG push for Lesner???

  • https://twitter.com/HPLoveshaft H.P. Loveshaft

Brock Has-Been shouldn’t be anywhere near a WWE title. He’s been given enough of a boost by ending the streak, and the half-ass part-timer isn’t even around to soak in the heat. He doesn’t need a title.

Oh, that…and the fact that he hasn’t put on a good match since his return.
