Backstage News On Randy Orton, John Cena Says CM Punk ‘Got Lucky’, Punk Responds
- At one point, there was apparently talk of putting Randy Orton into the Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio match at SummerSlam but the idea was nixed. The feeling was that they didn’t need to beef up the World Heavyweight Title match because it wasn’t a main part of the show. Orton will likely be taking a bit of time off in less than 1 month to begin filming 12 Rounds: Reloaded.
- The official WWE website spoke with John Cena after failing to capture the WWE Title at SummerSlam. Cena was asked if CM Punk is the best in the world. Cena called Punk luck and said he will try to get him on RAW.
- Punk wrote the following on Twitter in response to Cena saying he got lucky with the SummerSlam win:
“I Love @JohnCena saying I got lucky. It’s not luck, it’s skill. With the odds against me, I won. Not once, but twice. Gotta #respect that.”
