The Wrestling Genius: The Dean Ambrose Effect

Will Dean Ambrose be the greatest WWE US Champion of all-time? It might be too early to ask that question but I know I can break this down and tell you why I think he has the potential be not just very good, but great. There are few in the business today that can tell a story like Ambrose does and he does it with limited time on the mic. Ambrose has to share the mic with Seth Rollins (very good) and Roman Reigns (getting better) but as the alphaRead More

Thunder And Jee-S’ WWE B-Show Rundown 05/24/13

Jee-S’ NXT And Main Event Review 05/23/13 Sami Zayn defeats Curt Hawkins with an amazingly executed Tornado DDT. Thoughts: Very good match that ended way too quickly! I’ve always been a fan of Curt Hawkins’ work and I’m disappointed that he doesn’t get his chance in the midcard. One thing is for sure: he was the ideal guy to book against Sami Zayn for his debut. The former El Generico looked fantastic in the ring and I guess it’s no surprise. I was very excited for Zayn’s debut and itRead More

The Two Sheds Review: Mick McManus – Villain & Gentleman

We live in an era where the word “legend” is bandied about far too easily. Those who haven’t really done that much in their chosen profession are happy to adopt this particular moniker, even though they hardly deserve it. However, one man who deserved this title was Mick McManus. In an era when British wrestlers were as iconic as their counterparts in the entertainment industry McManus was one of the biggest icons. Alongside the likes of Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks, Kendo Nagasaki and Rollerball Rocco McManus was a regular onRead More

The Two Sheds Review: WWE Extreme Rules

It’s gimmick match overload time again as we take a look at WWE’s latest pay per view offering, Extreme Rules, shown live in the early hours of this past Monday morning on Sky Box Office here in Britain. The show began with a Wrestlemania rematch as Chris Jericho took on Fandango. With the lovely Summer Rae watching on from ringside these two easily picked up where they’d left off a few weeks ago. Jericho took it to the dancer before Fandango came back into the match, pulling off some prettyRead More

ThunderStruck: WWE Raw Analysis 05/20/13

Ryback comes out of the back of an ambulance after it pulls into the arena. He announces that he will face John Cena at Payback in an ambulance match and then goes off on a rant. ^This was Ryback’s best promo thus far, but that isn’t saying much. I’m looking forward to their rematch. Good opening. It’s announced that Paul Heyman will reveal his newest client tonight. ^PLEASE tell me that Rob Van Dam is coming back! Do I sound like a mark there? Only a bit… Chris Jericho andRead More

The Two Sheds Review: UFC Belfort vs Rockhold

The Octagon is our next destination as we journey with the Ultimate Fighting Championship to Brazil for their latest offering on America’s FX network, shown live in the early hours of this past Sunday morning here in Britain. The broadcast began in the middleweight division as Rafael Natal took on Joao Zeferino. This battle of the homeland fighters proved to be a very interesting affair. Zeferino looked promising early on, his striking causing Natal a few problems, and when Natal slipped Zeferino followed him to the ground. They soon foundRead More

ThunderStruck: WWE Extreme Rules 2013 Reaction

Chris Jericho defeats Fandango: Solid opener. I wasn’t blown away by anything in the match, but it was a decent way to hype the crowd for the start of the show. I’m glad Jericho got the nod in this one; I expect their third contest at Payback to be Fandango’s defining moment. Dean Ambrose defeats Kofi Kingston to win the US Title: I honestly didn’t expect Kofi to drop the title this soon, but Dean Ambrose is more than ready to carry a midcard title. I honestly see Dean AmbroseRead More

The Two Sheds Review: ROH Final Battle 2012

We’re heading into Ring of Honor territory once again, and this time around we’re going back to the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City last December for Final Battle. The show began with the fall of the House of Truth as Michael Elgin took on Roderick Strong. When the match began Truth Martini was nowhere to be seen, and it was only a few minutes later, when Elgin was taking Strong apart, that he finally made an appearance, looking rather less flamboyant than usual. As the match went on MartiniRead More

The Three Man Band’s WWE Extreme Rules Preview

Here we are with our Extreme Rules predictions and thoughts! I’m joined this month by Jee-S and Mike Lightning with their very talented writing. Let’s get down to business! Pre Show Match: The Miz vs Cody Rhodes Jee-S: I expect Miz to win this. Cody Rhodes is on a losing streak and Miz is coming back from a movie; he needs the momentum big time. The WWE has never hesitated to make Miz look good but they seem to have troubles building Rhodes. ML: Correct me if I’m wrong here,Read More

Dr. Wrestling:The Shield

This past week on Smackdown, the Daniel Bryan vs. Dean Ambrose match has received the endorsement from both WWE Hall of Famer, Jim Ross and veteran, William Regal, as an excellent match that showcases many of the great aspects of professional wrestling. If you watched the match, you know they are correct and if you didn’t, I recommend you find the match on Youtube because it’s definitely worth watching. It’s no surprise that Bryan and Ambrose had such a great match, considering they are some of the most talented youngRead More

ThunderStruck: Top WWE Title Matches: Part One

I recently read the list put out by WWE.com of the top fifty WWE Title matches of all time. After going through all the matches, I decided to make my own list and show where I disagree. Here’s part one! 50. The Undertaker vs Jeff Hardy, Ladder Match, Raw July ‘02: I’ve often called this match overrated in terms of the effort Jeff Hardy put into it, but the bottom line is that this match put the charismatic enigma on the map as a top contender for the WWE Title.Read More

Jee-S’ MAIN EVENT AND WWE NXT REVIEW 05/15/13 Kane defeats Seth Rollins via DQ when Dean Ambrose breaks up the pin attempt by Kane on Rollins. The Shield was going for the Cerebrus Bomb but The Usos made the save. Thoughts: It was a solid match by two very talented competitors; I just think their in-ring styles were way too different. Roman Reigns would’ve made more sense as Kane’s opponent here seeing as both of them wrestle a lot more similarly, but I guess they gave the singles opportunity toRead More

WWE: Extreme Rules 2013 Predictions

No introduction, no waiting, just straightforward predictions! -Siddharth Grover Miz vs Cody Rhodes The pre-show of the evening, the Miz will face Cody Rhodes. Surprisingly, the WWE is burying these superstars by not giving them an actual storyline, and while the Miz can go and film movies, Rhodes will be stuck losing to upper mid card stars like Randy Orton and Sheamus. Therefore, my prediction is that Cody Rhodes wins this bout, so that the Miz can go and film movies and Rhodes can have a legit push, or, knowingRead More

The Two Sheds Review: UCMMA 29

It’s time for another of those déjà vu reviews again, a DVD review of a TV show I’ve already reviewed, and this time around we’re heading into the world of British MMA as we head back to The Troxy in London last August for UCMMA 29. The show began with action from the light heavyweight division as Max Nunes faced Iain Martell. This battle of undefeated fighters proved to be a very interesting affair. Martell sought to take the fight to the ground early on. He quickly achieved his aim,Read More

ThunderStruck: WWE Raw Analysis 05/13/13

Fandango attacks Chris Jericho after Summer Rae fakes an injury during their dance off. Jericho had Edyta Sliwinska as his partner, but they never got the chance to dance. ^What a waste of a dance contest. I obviously hate the dancing part of Fandango’s character, but the aggressiveness is awesome! I honestly believe Fandango and Jericho will have no problem topping their somewhat average WrestleMania encounter with a brutal fight at Extreme Rules. Good opening segment to help put over Fandango. Ryback squashes Zack Ryder. ^Ryder sucks, and Ryback rules.Read More

The Two Sheds Review: TNA One Night Only: Joker’s Wild

It’s time to head over to the Impact Zone once again as we take a look at the latest of TNA’s One Night Only shows, Joker’s Wild, shown this past Wednesday night on Challenge here in Britain. The format of this show borrowed a little from something WCW did many years ago, a tournament format featuring six tag team matches, with the teams drawn at random, with the winners going on to a Royal Rumble-like gauntlet battle royal thing. Match one saw James Storm and Christian York taking on GunnerRead More
