Championship Match Nixed From Sunday’s WWE Night Of Champions PPV?

The scheduled Night of Champions bout between Dolph Ziggler and Dean Ambrose for the United States Championship is no longer listed on

WWE also published an article with predictions from the staff for each match, and there was no mention of the match. Ziggler and Ambrose will square off on tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown on Syfy.

WWE SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!! So freaking tired of the way they do things nowadays. Whatever happened to booking a match in advance of the PPV and then building up to it. Now we have another title not being defended at “NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS” to go along with the absence of the tag titles and the IC title, and in return we get a non-title bout on Smackdown? Who the heck is booking this crap!?!

Tag titles are being defended, Shield vs. winners of the pre-show Tag Team Turmoil match (probably PTP). But still, no US or IC title defenses is lame when the show is “Night of Champions,” and it’s always been billed as “the one night every title is on the line.”

Well I’m glad to hear that the tag titles will be defended, and this story has been updated. Apparently they will have this match at NOC, but still no IC title defense. Has Axel ever defended that title?

      • ChrisUK92

no the titles aren’t being defended. the turmoil match is at noc not the title match

Sorry dude, you’re mistaken. Turmoil is the kick-off match on the pre-show, title defense at the PPV.

While WWE is missing out with Dolph Ziggler as he is one of the hardest workers and best superstars they have. He will have his time, they just have too many people in the spotlight right now. As for The Shield they are being pushed. They are Tag Team and US Champions and are a part of the biggest story line in the WWE right now. With the titles at the PPV, they are messing up in the no IC thing but something may happen during the pre-show. Not likely but it could, but ask yourself this do you really see C.M. Punk as the IC Champ?
