Championship Wrestling from Hollywood TV Report – December 4, 2013

Championship Wrestling from Hollywood (3:00 am edition) 12/4/13

Welcome back to another week of CWFH action! Let’s just jump right in.

The revolution cut an anti-American promo to start out the evening. This was the standard stuff you’ve been seeing for decades, but it was nicely performed.

Scorpio Sky and Christian Cole came out to brag about Sky, when Jon Ian, whose name I’ve improperly spelled as John for a while now, announced that his assistant Danielle will name Sky’s challenger for his Heritage Heavyweight Championship later on tonight, just before he wrestles said opponent. I wish they wouldn’t do all of this talking in the ring, but not everyone shares my sentiment.

Dan Joseph, Topher Cash and Rudy vs. The Revolution (Che Cabrera, Sasha Darevko and Freddy Bravo)

This was a quick, well worked match that had a bit of everything in it. Afterwards, Freddy renamed himself Fidel, claiming it was his birth name. This too, was a good, quick way to rebrand him, going forward.

Winner: The Revolution

Cedric the Hitman w/ The family Stone vs. Rediculoso w/ BC Killer (I may be mistaken on his name)

This was another good little match that showcased two people who need some more fine tuning, but could evolve into something better.

Winner: Cedric the Hitman – Pin-fall

Stu Stone cut a promo demanding that Mikey O’Shea wrestle Othello next week. If O’Shea dictates the pace, that could be very enjoyable.

The Grappler chastised Jon Ian once again, utilizing the “Kings and Queens” speech by Dusty Rhodes. I hope this power struggle angle is going somewhere, as I’m very tired of them populating potential wrestling time.

The Nobodies are now calling themselves the Somebodies and sans Pinky, they claim they are celebrities. I like the makeover, as it gives them a familiar but proven look to work with, but it will be difficult to shake the unique characters they’ve been playing.

Main Event: Scorpio Sky vs. Matt Striker – CWFH Heritage Heavyweight Championship Match

A brief note: I had to look this match up as I had an issue with my TV broadcast, so I can’t review its content.

I’m glad they gave Striker a chance to work a main event, as he has the kind of psychology necessary to engage an audience enough to make them care about a big match. Sky is a great talent to have on hand and I’m glad he’s getting his chance in CWFH. Hopefully, I’ll actually get to watch this bout myself one day!

Winner: Scorpio Sky

The big issue I see with CWFH is that there is too much talking during what is a one hour broadcast. I hope they start utilizing the graphics department more, as that can get these messages across faster without needing a promo for it.

Thanks for reading and I’ll see you next week.
