CM Punk To Kick Off Raw With Live Promo, SmackDown Rating
– The July 8 episode of WWE SmackDown scored a 1.73 cable rating and averaged 2.72 million viewers, improving on year-low ratings and viewership the week before.
The previous week’s show drew a 1.63 cable rating and 2.33 million viwwers. This remains below the program’s 2011 average of a 1.9 rating and 2.9 million viewers.
– John Morrison and Melina returned from their promotional tour of Asia late last week. Morrison appeared at Friday night’s Florida Championship Wrestling live event in Gainesville, Florida without Melina, who was advertised to be there. Morrison signed autographs prior to the show and later took part in an angle.
– Advertised for tonight’s Raw is CM Punk kicking off the show with a promo.
WWE announced the following on their Twitter page: “Tonight on Raw: The now-reinstated & controversial (C.M. Punk) will have a live microphone in hand at 9:00 p.m. EST on Network when Raw kicks off!”
