wwe-elimination-chamber

Hey there guys! It’s that time again for some predictions.

First up me and Phil will be doing the newest episode of our podcast this weekend so go check it out at http://rowdyroddypodcast.podomatic.com and follow us on Twitter @ RowdyRoddyPodUK.

Now that the cheap plug is done lets get down to business! Here is the results so far for the predictions:

George – 13
KreSade – 12
Graeme – 10
Jordan – 9
Phil – 9
Dave – 9

So I definitely need to get my finger out as it stands and the chances are if George predicts it… It will be right, so go down to the bookies with his predictions.

YouTube Pre Show Match
Tensai and Brodus Clay vs Rhode Scholars

Dave:

Well that was a long break up that we had there! Suppose they said that they would still be friends and it was an amicable break up, however it is a bit quick to have them wrestle together again. So based on the logic that they have just tried to break this team up and that they have just formed Tensai and Brodus then I guess this is an easy one.

Winners: Brodus Clay and Tensai

Phil:

-Wait! When did this happen? I thought Cody and Sandow split up? Well nice to see WWE flip-flopping on angles because they realised their short lived tag “division” is floundering again. Despite Rhodes Scholars being back, I still see them remaining as comedy jobbers for now. Another loss for them unfortunately seeing as Tensai and Brodus are over. Well in Vince’s mind they are…. I mean Tensai dances. Look! HE DANCES!

Winners: Tensai & Brodus Clay

Graeme:

The Rhodes Scholars have disbanded, and The Fat Dancers have just gotten together – it only makes sense to give TFD the win.

Winners: Tensai and Brodus Clay

KreSade:

Tensai and Brodus Clay vs Rhode Sholars Considering Rhode Scholars being done with and how much success they’ve had. Brodus and Tensai are new as a tag team and dominating. I am going with Brodus and Tensai for the Win.

Winners: Brodus Clay and Tensai

Jordan:

tensai and brodus clay to win, they have finally managed to make something work with tensai (albeit a resemblence to his hip hopping hippo days) but it work and sandow and rhodes starting up their singles careers again i cant see why for the “1 nyt reunion” they would let them win?

Winner: Tensai and Brodus Clay

George:

Yes! The one reunion we’ve all been waiting for! Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow are back together baby! I love their team. It’s fucking tremendous! Their in-ring work, promos and chemistry are amazing and the fact that they’re only back together for 1 night means we should enjoy it while it lasts! I’m tired of Brodus Clay and Tensai bores me shitless, which means that, while I don’t want them to win, they probably will.

Winner: Brodus Clay and Tensai

US Title Match
Antonio Cesaro (c) vs The Miz

Dave:

I’m still not overly impressed with Cesaro, however I am starting to think he is getting better. The US title is not really doing anything for him though and I think he would be better with out it. I think it is time to move him on and give a reason for this feud to continue into Wrestlemania.

Winner: The Miz

Phil:

Could any care any less about The Miz? This face turn has been a real flop and a programme with Antonio Cesaro and all the endorsements in the world from Ric Flair won’t make a difference. Hope WWE see sense and keep the title on Cesaro but rumour has it they want this programme to continue until Wrestlemania so to give it a bit of steam they’re gonna have to put the title on The Miz. An attempt, they hope, will get him over as a face. It won’t.

Winner: The Miz wins the US Title

Graeme:

I’m not sure that Cesaro will keep the belt, particularly after how convincingly he beat the shit out of Miz against the barrier at Smackdown (that was brilliant, by the way – I fucking love Cesaro). Cesaro has been in the ring against some of the biggest names in the company of late, and despite losing, he has looked strong. It might be time for him to drop the title and get a push further up the card… That said, I don’t like seeing Cesaro lose, and The Miz doesn’t need the US Championship, so I’m finding this one a bit tricky to predict.

Fuck it, I want Cesaro to win. Go Cesaro!

Winner: Antonio Cesaro

KreSade:

I really haven’t been convinced to really care about this match. However I see no reason at the moment for Antonio to lose the title to the Miz just yet. So I am going with Cesaro for the win on this one.

Winner: Antonio Cesaro

Jordan:

cesaro to win – i like the miz, really….Really? , but his face turn hasnt went the way WWE excpected i dont think, cesaro has been building heat over the past few months and i am actually begining to enjoy him.

Winner: Antonio Cesaro

George:

Again, these dudes are 2 of the best mid-carders in the company. Hell, they’re 2 of the best wrestlers in the company. Miz has it all – he’s got charisma by the bucketload, his theme music is epic, he’s great on the mic and he’s no worse than the likes of Cena, Hogan or Hardy in the ring. Miz should be upper mid-card. Not suffering down at United States Championship level. Saying that, neither should Cesaro. He should be in del Rio’s spot, but we’ll get to that later. The dude is built like a brick shithouse and every single one of his moves look like they could legit fuck you up. He’s been built so strongly that I can’t see him losing the belt, so Antonio Cesaro retains here.

Winner: Antonio Cesaro

World Heavyweight Title Match
Alberto Del Rio (c) vs Big Show

Dave:

As much as Del Rio has grown on me slightly I have no interest in this match what so ever. Big Show is boring and Del Rio isn’t great either. I really think that Ziggler is going to cash in this time, which I have been saying for months but this would be perfect, so the result of this match doesn’t really matter. However I have to make a choice so Del Rio it is!

Winner: Alberto Del Rio

Phil:

Here’s a bizarre one. Normally when you have a heated feud in WWE which is prolonged over a few matches at Pay Per Views the normal logic is singles match, rematch, gimmick match to end the feud. This one has went the other way. Gimmick match, gimmick match, singles match to (what seems to be) end the feud. Del Rio’s keeping the title. Simple as. Given Ziggler’s non-involvement in the PPV, you gotta wonder if he’ll play a role? Hmmm……

Winner: Alberto Del Rio retains the World Heavyweight Championship

Graeme:

The Big Show has been looking pretty brutal of late. His silent “promo” where he knocked Matt Striker the fuck out was actually quite intense. He’s looking strong, so all the more reason to have ADR win the match. He is pretty over as a face, this win could cement him in the Good Guys camp and he could do with a decent title run to keep the momentum up.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio

KreSade:

Despite what other people may feel about this match. I am interested in it. Del Rio being turned face was a breath of fresh air. It made me like him. I see no reason for Del Rio to lose to the big show. However could this also mean they tear each other apart. Leaving del rio open for Dolph to cash in his Money in the bank. Considering he has nothing to do at this PPV and is only a little while away from WM. As for this match I pic Del Rio to win.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio

Jordan:

alberto del rio to win – this feud needs to end, they have worked it for too long, big show is stale and i dont enjoy watching him anymore. I have a feeling though that Ziggler might cash in his breifcase and win starting up a new rivalry with del rio heading into Wrestlmania, ziggler isnt on the card for elimination chamber and it is a bit odd dont u think since hes had a tremendous push over the past few months?

Winner: Alberto Del Rio

George:

I literally could not care less who wins. I mean who gives a shit about fire extinguishers, duct tape and tour buses? That’s what WWE have reverted to in an attempt to make us give a shit about this feud. I’ve said it loads of times before. Take Ricardo and the belt away from Berty. Would anyone give a shit? No! As for Big Show, he just looks like a big, angry baby. He’s been at the top end of the WWE card for 9 months now, and how many times have I given a shit? None! Alberto del Rio retains here, because it’s the lesser of two evils.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio

6 Man Tag Team Match
The Shield vs John Cena, Sheamus and Ryback

Dave:

This one I am looking forward to. I have said before there is a difference between who I want to win and who I think will win. I want The Shield to win, however I can’t see Cena and friends losing to them. I think either Seth Rollins or Sheamus will be the guys that will get pinned out of this as I think they are the two guys in each team that could take a hit more than the other four. So I’m going to go with Cena’s team to win by getting the pin on Rollins.

Winners: John Cena, Sheamus and Ryback

Phil:

I’m so afraid for The Shield in this match. I think this could be Nexus all over again. Much like Nexus at Summerslam 2010, they could lose all momentum by wrongfully doing the job to a WWE dream team. I strongly feel this match should have been a 3 on 3 match inside the Chamber with a WCW War Games vibe about it. Eliminate all the other team to win. Simple. However WWE have cancelled this idea because they don’t want 5 of their top guys to look weak and be eliminated. So essentially they just told us the plan was for John Cena to be the soul survivor? Lovely. That reasoning gives away their intentions for this one sadly. It’s gonna be a victory for Cena and co.

Winners: John Cena, Sheamus and Ryback

Graeme:

The Shield should win. It doesn’t make any sense whatsoever to have The Superfriends take the win here. Knowing the WWE, there’s a damned good chance that they will, but I’m sticking my neck out here and I’m going to say The Shield will win it (although I doubt it will be even remotely close to a clean victory).

Winners: The Shield

KreSade:

Besides the champion ship match. This is the second match I look forward to the most. I am high on Ryback, I actually do like Cena (and I’m 24 years old) and Sheamus who I don’t mind either. The fact that these guys are the current and future poster boys. I have give them the win for this match. After WM is over and the dust clears. These three faces are going to be the focal point in WWE. Whether on Raw or on Smackdown. Where Shield goes from here I don’t know. Do they just become Heyman’s henchmen and help CM Punk or Brock Lesner. Or become defeated and disbanded. Who knows. But I pick the babyfaces to win. Cena is on a winning Streak until WM, Ryback lost 4 title matches due to Shield he is the most angry, and Sheamus was attacked and just loves to fight. Besides Punk, Sheamus had a long Title run as well. So all three have somewhat of an idea on how to win.

Winner: Cena, Sheamus and Ryback

Jordan:

the sheild to win – it would seem a shame to let the companys babyfaces win against a new team that needs the win to carry momentum, however i think that they need to keep building on this, with ovo rock vs cena at wrestlemania (or punk, rock, cena triple threat) i think there will be another person involved, possibly someone controlling the shield that will help them win, it would mean that cena, ryback, sheamus look good going into wrestlemania

Winner: The Shield

George:

Guess what? I’ve come up with a name for the Cena, Ryback and Sheamus team – the Hads-Teroids. Think about it!! Anyway, this match is really tough for me. I love what The Shield do, what they stand for and what they say on the mic. It’s like I’m living out my frustrations with WWE through them, especially what they say about the Fruity Pebbled fucknugget John Cena. Before I get too bogged down in negativity, WWE have backed themselves into a corner here. They can’t job out the 3 biggest babyfaces in the company ahead of WrestleMania, but they also can’t job out The Shield after building them so strongly since their debut. This has got dodgy finish written all over it. I hope to Christ that The Shield win – for the long-term future of the WWE. Otherwise, it’s gonna be more of the same.

Winner: The Shield

Elimination Chamber
Jack Swagger vs Daniel Bryan vs Mark Henry vs Kane vs Chris Jericho vs Randy Orton

Dave:

When Ziggler didn’t go into the match and Y2J did, my first instinct was that Ziggler is cashing in and Jericho will win the Chamber. The only one I see that could win it other than that would be Orton, but Y2J would make more sense. Jack Swagger can fuck off, he is well shit and if he wins it is a travesty!

Winner: Chris Jericho

Phil:

Perhaps the most interesting match on the card because I can honestly justify reasons for 4 out of the 6 winning this. So there’s a real unpredictability about it.
Chris Jericho – If Ziggler cashes in and becomes World Champion then bet your bottom dollar on Jericho winning this match to set up Jericho vs Ziggler for the World Title at Wrestlemania.
Mark Henry – Because Henry as a monster Heel is awesome and would be a massive, believable threat to Alberto Del Rio.
Jack Swagger – Because with his new mouthpiece of Dutch Mantell back as Uncle Zeb in a racist, southern USA, country bumpkin, Republican hillbilly, wouldn’t it make sense for Swagger vs Del Rio? With Del Rio being Mexican and therefore being “one of dem imigants!”.
Randy Orton – Badly needs something to spark his career into life again. Rumour is he’s gonna turn heel so have Del Rio retain and Orton win this. Turn heel and we get Orton vs Del Rio at Wrestlemania (which sounds so boring).
However gotta pick one… I’m gonna go with Jericho for the reason above because I also think Ziggler is gonna cash in.

Winner: Chris Jericho
P.S. The fact this match is for the #1 contendership to the second championship and is inside the Elimination Chamber is enough evidence to support why gimmick PPV’s should end! This match sure as Hell ain’t gonna close the show.

Graeme:

I can only see this match going to one of the two returning Superstars – either Mark Henry or Chris Jericho (shut up, Thwagger, nobody cares).

Mark Henry has been dominant, and he’s looking like the No. 1 contender to come out of this match with the win… but I see Jericho taking it, setting up a run to Wrestlemania where he’ll face Dolph Ziggler for the Heavyweight Championship.

Winner: Jericho

KreSade:

I don’t know who I want to win in this match honestly. And it depends who wins the World title match. If Del Rio wins then I would see Mark Henry winning, if Big Show wins we could see Randy Orton as he has nothing for WM unless he turns heel. Dolph cashes in the MITB and wins the World title. I would guess Jericho wins and faces Dolph for the world title at WM. This one is hard to say. Not to mention you have the current tag champs in there. Just for the sake of picking someone. I pick Jack Swagger is the most over looked in the bunch.

Winner: Jack Swagger

Jordan:

Jericho to win – what a man! i think bryan and kane will end their tag team, kane will destroy bryan but neither will win. Jericho would put on a fantastic match against ziggler (if my other prediction is correct) and they have been hinting at this for a while (ziggler/jericho feud) i think orton/henry will prob be in a 3 man tag match at wrestlemania against each other with another rivalry or two.

Winner: Jericho

George:

Wow. First off, there’s been 3 awesome returns in the last few weeks. I’m still marking out every time I see Jericho! Judge me. I don’t care. WWE is a better place when Jericho is around, so I’m enjoying it for as long as he’s back. It won’t be for long, so drink it in. The other huge return has been the re-incarnation of Jack Swagger. I’ve always felt Swagger has had a raw deal from WWE. He’s got so much talent and deserves so much better, so hopefully this is the start of bigger things for the Swag-Man! The final return was epic. Why? Cos somebody’s gon’ get they ass whipped… Somebody’s gon’ get they wig split. Yup. Big Miz-Ark Henry is back and just kicking ass. I love it. He’s a big threat in this one and shouldn’t be taken lightly. The others in this are Team Hell No and Randy Orton. I would go bat-shit crazy if Bryan won for the 2nd straight year. He’s phenomenal and deserves to be World Champion. Kane doesn’t need it and Orton shouldn’t have it. Simple as that. My pick is Chris Jericho. Why? Because I think Ziggler cashes in Money in the Bank after Big Show destroys del Rio following the World Heavyweight Championship match. Who doesn’t wanna see Jericho/Ziggler for the World Title at WrestleMania? That would be awesome!

Winner: Chris Jericho

WWE Title Match
The Rock (c) vs CM Punk

Dave:

Well this feels like Groundhog Day right here! I still live in hope that Punk will get the win, but I can’t see it happening at all. I think The Rock has this one in the bag… Unfortunately!

Winner: The Rock

Phil:

Interesting stipulation added with the news that if Rock gets DQ’d or counted out, he’s gonna lose the title. I’m now starting to lean towards the feeling that WWE’s gonna throw a spanner in the works and it’s not gonna be Rock vs Cena: Twice in a lifetime and instead will shoehorn CM Punk into the main event of a triple threat match. For that to happen we need Punk to have a justifiable reason and I think this new stipulation is gonna provide just that. I predict The Rock is gonna do something during the match which should result in a DQ. For instance the ref will be distracted or knocked out and he’ll use a weapon. The Rock will then win the match and the next night on Raw, CM Punk and Heyman will raise their issue that they were screwed again. It’ll eventually lead to CM Punk finding his way into a Triple Threat main event at Wrestlemania. I’m also convinced Undertaker won’t be at Wrestlemania this year and that’ll free up CM Punk so they need to put him somewhere and it makes sense to put him in the main event rather than destroy the “Once in a Lifetime” tag.

Winner: The Rock retains the WWE Championship

Graeme:

This old chestnut again… last time I predicted Punk to win, and the Rock took it. This time I think the Rock will win… so should I bet on Punk?

IF (and it’s a fucking huge “if”) Punk were to win at Elimination Chamber, by getting the Rock DQ’d (The Shield interfere at Paul Heyman’s behest, and attack Punk, so Rocky loses the belt, for example) then The Rock would have a legitimate gripe, Punk would be a smug asshole and it would set up the Punk – Rock – Cena Triple Threat match at Wrestlemania (keeping the “Once in a Lifetime” tag from last year’s Cena / Rock match accurate).

If Punk / Heyman weren’t going to at least try to screw The Rock out of his title, then there would have been no need for Heyman to get Vince McMahon to add stipulations to the match.

On that basis, I’m going for the shock Punk win.

Winner: CM Punk

KreSade:

Rock Wins this match unless the swerve us. The Rock is able to be on every Raw until WM. We may start seeing the build up between Cena and Rock 2 next Monday. Either in a major way or little hints. Punk will drop down the card a bit. Possibly faces The Undertaker at WM. But I choose the Rock. He is getting the WWE more publicity being a Hollywood guy and all.

Winner: The Rock

Jordan:

Rock to win – i want punk to win, but its WWE, so the rock will win
i just hope that punk is involved in the wresltemania title match, and shocks us all and wins.

The end

Winner: The Rock

George:

I fucking hate some WWE fans. There. I said it. And I don’t care what you think about it. Should Rock be WWE Champion? No. No part-timer should be WWE Champion. They should be used to build newer stars, not at the top of the card. But – and that’s a key word – I understand why WWE have done it. Simply put, Rock/Cena for the title draws money. And that’s what WWE is all about. Making money. If you don’t understand that, you’re a moron. You should also hide any sharp objects around your house incase you harm yourself. Don’t even get me started on those of you bitching about “Once in a Lifetime” either. If you believe ANYTHING that’s said in a wrestling ring, there’s no hope for you. Seriously… Should Punk be champion? Of course. He’s legit Best in the World. No question about that. Punk has been untouchable in the ring and on the mic for the last 24 months, if not longer. He should be at the top of the card, with the title, heading in to WrestleMania. But he isn’t. And likely won’t be. As much as I don’t like that, or the fact that Rock is champion, it’s a business. Whatever the rights and wrongs of giving him the championship, Rock draws money. I don’t see any way that The Rock leaves Elimination Chamber without being WWE Champion.

Winner: The Rock

Well that is us done and dusted guys! Hope you enjoyed the read and we’ll see you all at Wrestlemania!

Cheers!
