Dave Scott – Night of Champions Predictions

Hey there guys! Dave Scott here with my Night of Champions predictions.

I’m actually looking forward to the PPV tonight, it is good to see all the titles getting some time on TV. Plus the card is pretty solid and we have a lot more matches planned ahead which is always a good thing!

Tag Team Titles: Daniel Bryan and Kane vs Kofi Kingston and R-Truth

I’m really looking forward to this match. I have really been enjoying the Daniel Bryan and Kane feud with the anger management and the hut it out and such, it has been great. It has also been quite a while since they have had a tag team that don’t want to be a tag team together and haven’t intentionally got themselves in this position. Factor in that you have four above average workers in the ring I really think this match will be awesome. I think it is time to get the titles off of Kofi and Truth though so I’m going to go for Team Friendship for the victory!

Winners: Daniel Bryan and Kane

Intercontinental Title: The Miz vs Rey Mysterio vs Sin Cara vs Cody Rhodes

I’m liking that they are going for the fatal four way for this one. These days it is pretty rare that we do get fatal four ways on PPV, so it is always good to see one when it has the right people involved. The last one we got to see was at Over The Limit for the World Heavyweight Title and that was a good one, so hopefully this can follow the that trend. With this match I don’t think Mysterio or Rhodes really have anything to gain from winning the title in this one, however it could be a way to get Rhodes back on TV regularly, but I feel it would be moving backwards rather than moving forward with him. Sin Cara could gain a lot from winning this match as he has yet to hold any titles in the WWE, so it could be good for him. However I think The Miz is the best result to go with here. He hasn’t held the title long and should get a few more feuds with it before they take it off him to move him up the card.

Winner: The Miz

Diva’s Title: Layla vs Kaitlyn

Anyone who has read my predictions in the past should know I don’t really care that much for the Diva’s division, it is just a division full of boring and crap matches. These two are two of my favourite diva’s though, however it is just down to them being pretty hot. I don’t think Kaitlyn is ready for the Diva’s title though so keep the belt on Layla.

Winner: Layla

Randy Orton vs Dolph Ziggler

This match has all the ingredients to be a great match. Dolph Ziggler consistently goes out and has great matches week in, week out and these two have been having good matches over the past few weeks so there is no reason why they shouldn’t have a great match on this night. Ziggler really needs the win in this one more than Orton though, Ziggler lost at the last PPV and he is currently being built up to challenge for the World Heavyweight Title, so in my mind it wouldn’t really make sense to have him lose on a regular basis on PPV. From what I have read online Orton is going to be leaving to film for a while, so this could be a defeat and an injury angle to write him out for a short period of time.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

Battle Royal for opportunity for the US Title

I always do like to see a battle royal, it is a great way to get exposure to guys that don’t usually get that much exposure. Without knowing who is going to be in the match it is hard to predict who is going to win it, but if I was to take a stab in the dark I would go for Brodus Clay, Christian or Santino Marella as I think it is going to be a face that will go on to face Cesaro. Infact if Ryback is in it he will win the match most definitely, man this is to hard! I’ll go for Ryback to win and to go on to beat Cesaro.

Winner: Ryback

World Heavyweight Title: Sheamus vs Alberto Del Rio

If you have been following my columns at all or if you have me on Twitter, you will know that I have no interest in Del Rio at this point. I find his character boring and I don’t think he is ready for the main event, however I do recognise that he is a good wrestler and can put on good matches, but it is nothing special. Also this feud has been pretty much going on since Over The Limit which was back in May, I know they haven’t been against each other at every PPV but the feud has been going throughout that whole time, they need to get this feud finished tonight! I’m hoping it doesn’t end with a Del Rio win though because that is the wrong way to go. Del Rio needs to lose this match and get pushed down the card a tad, perhaps put in line for one of the secondary titles rather than one of the main event ones, so he can build his character a bit and prepare him for the main event scene. So I’m going to say that without a doubt Sheamus needs to win this one.

Winner: Sheamus

WWE Tile: CM Punk vs John Cena

These two guys always deliver when they go against each other and tonight will be no different. Over the last few weeks it has been good how they have went about things with trying to turn Punk heel, which has been going brilliantly. I don’t think it would make sense to see Cena win the title tonight as I think Punk should continue to go on to hold the title up until the Royal Rumble so he gets the match against The Rock to then go forward for a Rock and Cena rematch at Wrestlemania. So I think with Paul Heyman’s involvement we will see Punk pick up the win.

Winner: CM Punk
