Did Hulk Hogan Help SmackDown Viewership?, Damien Sandow Talks Charity Work, WWE Stock
– Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown, with footage from WrestleMania XXX Axxess and Hulk Hogan’s return to Friday nights, drew 2.71 million viewers. This was down from last week’s 3.057 million viewers. SmackDown was #1 for the night on cable behind ESPN’s SportsCenter.
– The Columbia Daily Herald recently spoke with Damien Sandow to promote next week’s SmackDown tapings and he talked about the charity work he does:
“Yes, my charity of choice is Kosair Charities. They are based out of Louisville, Ky., and they are a division of the Kosair Shriners, and they do so much just to help children. Not only do they fund hospitals, but they have a school for the blind and a school for children with autism. I have been to about five different locations that do something different, and just to see all these children getting help, if that does not put things in perspective for you, nothing will. I understand how fortunate I am to be able to wrestle in the WWE and do what I truly love and do what I am doing for a living. To help out in this way, it really puts life into perspective. It keeps me in check. It grounds me. It keeps me appreciative of what I have and grateful that I have the ability to help others.”
– WWE stock closed at $23.90 per share today, down 14.70%. The high was $27.04 and the low was $21.73. As noted, stock took a big hit this morning after WWE announced the number of Network subscribers.
