Fitness Model Christina Vargas Granted Contract Release From WWE

Christina Vargas, a 29-year-old fitness model who signed a developmental contract with WWE in the spring, revealed on her Twitter account that she has parted ways with the sports-entertainment organization after requesting her release—she did not appear on television nor a single live event.

After recovering from vocal cord surgery, the Las Vegas, Nevada-based performer moved to Orlando, Florida, late last month to begin training at the WWE Performance Center. However, she soon came to the conclusion that she would rather pursue a career in cooking than professional wrestling.

“I realized my true dream is for cooking & I wanted 2 cont. on that path & finish my cookbook & site. Looking into a food spot,” explained Vargas to a Twitter user.

When asked by another user why she went tried out professional wrestling in the first place, Vargas wrote, “I’m an athlete. Thought I could of done both. I do love the wrestling part I just realized what meant more to me after.”

Vargas thanked WWE for the opportunity, and considers herself a fan. She wrote a NXT Divas fan account, “Thank you. I appreciate the opportunity was a pleasure to work w/ all the athletes & staff I have nothing but respect I’m a fan.”
