Former ROH Head Booker Returning At Death Before Dishonor XII, Latest On ROH Reloaded

– Ring of Honor has posted a video to their official YouTube account featuring former head booker and NWA World Heavyweight Champion, “Scrap Daddy” Adam Pearce, who announces that he will be returning to the promotion after a nearly three year absence at ROH Death Before Dishonor XII on 22/8 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He may also appear the following night in Chicgao for night two. Pearce took control of ROH’s booking in 2008 after the dismissal of ROH co-founder Gabe Sapolsky. Pearce operated as head booker from October 2008 until August 2010, when he was replaced temporarily by current ROH head booker Hunter “Delirious” Johnson and then permanently by Jim Cornette. Pearce would make a return to Ring of Honor at their WrestleMania Weekend, Showdown in the Sun iPPV’s in 2012 and was tapped for roles with the promotion, but a dispute between he and former ROH front office member Ross Abrams blocked his signing, to the public anger of Jim Cornette. Abrams was fired last year. More recently, Pearce appeared on Impact Wrestling in TNA’s Gut Check segment, failing to gain a job, and trained talent at WWE’s Performance Center in what was described as a try-out for future training positions.

– Last week we reported that Ring of Honor had began releasing promotional posters for their October and November TV tapings in Wheeling, West Virginia and Lakeland, Florida respectively, and that the shows were titled “Reloaded”, featuring a new logo. This coincided with ROH front office member Court Bauer saying earlier this year that ROH would be re-branding their weekly television show on Sinclair Broadcasting channels to create some speculation that the show may be re-branded as ROH Reloaded. Bauer responded to me on Twitter stating it was just a title for ROH’s fall tour.
