Former WWE heavyweight champion Batista has booked his first MMA fight, TMZ reports.
Batista has been training for years and was close to fighting in the Strikeforce league back in 2010, however the deal fell apart.
Batista is scheduled to fight on October 6 at the Duncan Doughnuts Theater in Providence, Rhode Island.
Batista, 6’6″ and 290 lbs, will face a fighter named Rashid Evans (not to be confused with UFC star Rashad Evans.)
Sources close to the deal say the fight will be televised but it’s unclear which provider will broadcast the fight. Batista also noted on Twitter that the fight will air on pay-per-view, “I’m making my MMA debut oct 6th live on PPV check it! BOOOOM there’s the announcement. Sorry haters!”
