Internal Reaction To Vince McMahon Ribbing Obama On Raw, WWE Live Event Problems

- PWMania.com reported that Vince McMahon took a shot at President Obama taking a photo of himself at the Nelson Mandela ceremony by having the RAW announcers take a “selfie” on RAW recently. The reaction backstage was a lot of people hated it because they felt the announcers made the Big Show and Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes and Goldust match, which was to build towards a title match, seem unimportant, and that it was a “first time ever” match and those matches are so rare.

- Regarding the lack of organization with WWE’s live events department, this past week they set up media calls for Cody Rhodes to promote the December 30th Toronto live event. The next day they changed it to The Miz. Then, when Miz was doing the calls, WWE told the reporters that Miz has been pulled from the Toronto event, which means he was likely needed for the live RAW that night in Richmond, Virginia.

I agree.about the selfie – doing it was one thing, but to do it in a match like that was a poor choice. It made the match feel unimportant. It could have been handled much better.

  • Joshua Craig

The selfie was an idiotic move. I wish wrestling commentary would get back to calling the moves and selling the matches instead of just three idiots blabbering on and on.

    • tslay

man are u all fucking dum ass and vince mcmahon i thought this was a wrestling show not a debate don’t be made cause you nor your wife can win a election and when ya’ll going to get off his dick bout dat so childish that this keeps being brought and yea by the way the economy still growing since he’s been in office haters

  • Chronkite

I enjoyed that they shit on Obama with the selfie, but it was the wrong time. I guess it all makes sense though, because Obama took his selfie at a funeral, which is extremely disrespectful. They were just mocking the whole situation.

    • tobimobi

It was NOT a funeral. It was a memorial celebrating the life of Nelson Mandela.

I think it’s a bit immature. They shouldn’t be “ribbing” anybody like that. I’m a bit disappointed. They’ve been subtlety picking on the original Sin Cara recently too. Hell, they did it to JR. I’ve got a lot of respect for Mr. McMahon because of what he’s done for wrestling and sports entertainment, but as a human being I’m not all that sure. Really childish to make fun of others like that.
