Interview With: Kimberly
Page
Interview By: Andy Steven of
www.PWMania.com
Date: November 12, 2007
Actress, business woman, former WCW Nitro Girl, Playboy girl and manager
of her husband Diamond Dallas Page, Kimberly Page recently took some time
out of her schedule to take part in an interview with
www.PWMania.com.
She speaks on several topics from her WCW days, to posting for Playboy,
admitting to seeing drugs used in wrestling, her movies, WWE, her cat
Spooki and much more. The complete interview is below:
Andy
Steven: Hello Kimberly, firstly I would like to thank you for taking
this time to take part in an interview for
www.PWMania.com.
What have you been up to recently?
Kimberly Page: I moved to Salt Lake City in April and have gone to
work in marketing at a company that sells fine art.
Andy Steven: You spent around 7 years working with WCW, what are
you memories from working with WCW?
Kimberly Page: There are so many, I could fill pages. My fondest
memories all include travelling the world with my husband, meeting scores
of people and working with a colorful cast of characters. I really enjoyed
working certain towns - Chicago, San Francisco, Baltimore, Kansas City,
Salt Lake City, as Vegas, Toronto. People were very welcoming and Page and
I always made some time to have some fun in those cities. I loved
travelling to Europe with the group - that Hulkamania tour in 1996 was
truly an experience I will never forget. Not only were we really popular
in Europe at that time, but it was my first experience of really
travelling in style. The years following really got me spoiled - we stayed
in fine hotels, rode chartered jets and limos. It is hard to revert back
to a normal life after that!
Andy Steven: During your time in WCW, was there ever a moment when
there was drug use involved and you were aware of it?
Kimberly Page: Yes and yes.
Andy
Steven: Since you retired from the wrestling business you began to
pursue your acting career and have appeared in several movies much as Rat
Race, The Scam Artist, The 40-Year-Old Virgin and many others, what has
been your favorite movie you have taken part in and do you feel your time
in WCW help you gain experience for your acting career?
Kimberly Page: I loved every movie experience for different
reasons. Each film I've worked on has had a fantastic director and my
scene partners were an actor's dream! Can you imagine, my first movie was
working opposite Cuba Gooding, Jr? I went from that to doing the indy
film, The Scam Artist which was a lot of work but an incredibly beneficial
one because it taught me so much about my process as an actor. Seabiscuit
was next, which was the other end of the spectrum - a huge budget film has
luxuries that just don't exist anywhere else. Then I did the 40YOV which
was a blast- working with Steve Carrell and John Apatow was such a treat!
Finally, Monarch of The Moon had a terrific director and producer who made
my job truly enjoyable.
Andy Steven: Do you still take part in movie roles or anything?
Kimberly Page: No, I'm a businesswoman now! I might pick up a
project here and there - the indy film scene is great in Utah thanks to
the Sundance Institute. But it has to fit with the priorities I have now.
I am still doing some hosting work for TV and web - you'll see me on the
Yoga For Regular Guys ads and also as a web host on mobilerider.com. I'm
probably a better host than I am an actor, and I think I will end up doing
this kind of work for years to come.
Andy
Steven: You have posed several times for Playboy, how did you and
Playboy get in contact with each other, were you expecting to do so many
photoshoots for them?
Kimberly Page: I tried out for the 40th Anniversary Playmate search
and started working with Playboy's Southeast producer, Cynthia Kaye.
Together we shot about eight times over a ten-year period. Playboy always
was very good to me and at the time, it was a decent career move.
Andy Steven: You created the WCW Nitro Girls and was the head
captain. How much involvement did you have in creating the Nitro Girls,
did you pick the girls yourself and did you think it would have been as
successful as it was?
Kimberly Page: I was involved in every element of it. I picked the
girls, designed the outfits and choreography (although I did not
choreograph numbers myself), selected music, produced the calendars and
videos, administrated autograph signings and appearances...it was a lot of
work! I knew it would be successful, because the women I chose were
absolutely committed to making it work. I credit my group for their hard
work and dedication.
Andy
Steven: When DDP signed with WWE and was involved in the storyline
between The Undertaker and Sarah, reports suggest that there were talks
with you signing with WWE, is this true and if so, what happened?
Kimberly Page: I never talked to the WWE about working for them.
Andy Steven: There was reports in 2005 that you and DDP had
divorced, can you clear this story up?
Kimberly Page: We separated in 2005. Today we are as close as we've
ever been.
Andy Steven: I would like to thank you very much once again for
taking this time to take part in this interview for
www.PWMania.com,
I wish you the best of luck in the future, do you have any messages to say
to your fans?
Kimberly Page: I would like to ask that fans respect my work and
private life by not calling my cell phone number, which has been posted
online and other internet sites as part of the story about the
disappearance of my kitty cat, Spooki. I appreciate their encouraging
messages, but would like to ask they send me an email instead, or send a
message on myspace. By the way, I am still looking for Spooki and won't
give up hope.
