Jerry Lawler Latest; Got Sick At Seafood Restaurant, Photo Of Him Backstage At Raw

WWE Hall Of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler has been released from the hospital and is back at the Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, Maryland, the site of tonight’s Old School Raw show, according to the Wrestling Observer. Jerry Lawler is not broadcasting tonight’s special show but is indeed backstage.

WWE provided an update on Monday’s Old School Raw claiming he is “under the weather.” They also stated that Lawler’s heart is “fine.”

The fact that he is already out of the hospital and backstage at Raw indicates the illness wasn’t nearly as bad as originally feared.

During the first Old School Raw commercial break, Lawler appeared live on the WWE app and said that he got sick when he and his girlfriend went to a seafood restaurant in Baltimore. He said that the food “didn’t sit well” and threw up in a mall. Due to his previous heart issues and with vomiting possibly happening prior to a heart attack, it was best for him to be checked out at the hospital. After spending a few hours in a Baltimore hospital having tests run, the diagnosis ended up being a stomach virus. Lawler also revealed that WWE legend Niolai Volkoff is also backstage at the event.

As PWMania.com previously reported, Lawler was hospitalized earlier today in Baltimore, MD, the home of tonight’s Old School WWE Raw. Lawler had blood work done at the hospital and is now doing “fine.”

A backstage source stated that Lawler was trying to hide his illness, but his son, Brian Christopher, who is scheduled for tonight’s show, notified WWE officials that he was having chest pains and vomiting, ProWrestling.net reports. The WWE medical team then decided to send Lawler to the hospital for observation.

A lot of the talent were reportedly very depressed going into tonight’s show when word got around regarding Lawler’s condition, according to the Wrestling Observer. Very few people had seen “The King” ill.
