Johnny Gargano was rumored to be headed up to WWE after his contract with DGUSA expires this week. However, at last night’s Dragon Gate iPPV Johnny Gargano announced that he will be staying with the company after all. After defeating Akira Tozawa to defend the Open the Freedom Gate Title at Dragon Gate USA’s Untouchable 2012 iPPV, Gargano addressed the crowd and revealed he was offered a new contract by Dragon Gate USA and that he has signed the contract.
He spoke on how important independent wrestling is to him during his promo.
Gargano has been on WWE’s radar for quite some time now, but many are saying the interest waned after step-father Walt Klasinski was released from prison after serving six months.
