Kurt Angle Comments On DUI Arrest, Wasn’t Legally Intoxicated

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle says his blood alcohol level was below the legal limit of Virginia when he was arrested for driving under the influence Saturday night.

TMZ obtained the Certificate of Blood Alcohol Analysis issued by the State of Virginia which shows Angle’s blood alcohol level was 0.06 at the time of his arrest. The legal limit in Virginia is 0.08.

Angle released a statement on the matter. “I did not believe my driving behavior was reckless or otherwise improper.”

He adds, “I fully cooperated with the officer who clearly recognized me while performing his standard procedures. Subsequent to the stop, I was asked to submit to a breathalyzer test and passed. I do not believe that I broke any laws and will be entering a plea of not guilty in response to any pending charges.”

NVDaily.com reported this morning that Virginia state police spokesman Sgt. F.L. “Les” Tyler received a third-party call of a vehicle headed eastbound on Interstate 66 that was swerving “all over the road.” Trooper C.R. Scally stopped the vehicle at 11:10 p.m. Saturday, which was occupied by Angle. He was arrested and susbequently transported to the Warren County Jail.

Regarding his erratic driving, Angle explains, “I was returning from an iMPACT Wrestling show in an unfamiliar place, late at night and was trying to find the exit for my hotel.”
