Kurt Angle Says TNA Could Be Competing With WWE In 5 Years Time, RVD Missing Impact
– Kurt Angle was asked during an interview with Chicago Now where he sees TNA in the next five years.
“It continues to grow no doubt worldwide,” Angle said. “We are on the road for good and we are taking little steps to improve the overall product. I believe in 5 years if things are done right we could be competing with the monster (WWE). They have amazing programming and Vince McMahon has done wonders for his product. I have been in Impact Wrestling for 7 years and I thought by now we would be up in the ratings. I believe that’s going to take a little more time.”
Also during the interview, Angle also discussed retirement, the milk truck incident, if MMA will ever become an Olympic sport and other topics.
– Rob Van Dam revealed that he will not be on hand for this week’s Impact Wrestling tapings. When a fan asked him on Twitter if he was looking forward to being in Chicago on Thursday, he replied, “Ill be in Cali. More on that in a few days.”
It is also worth nothing that during an interview on Joe McDonnell Uncensored back in October, Rob Van Dam mentioned that his contract with the company would be up in March of 2013. RVD’s deal was originally set to expire in March of 2012 but had an option for another year.
This could be an indication that he didn’t re-sign with the company.
