Latest On “Dusty Rhodes Classic” NXT Tournament, The Vaudevillians Celebrate, Apollo Crews, More

– Regarding the “Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic” that kicks off in a few weeks on NXT TV, WWE wrote the following on their website:

“During the historic NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn broadcast on WWE Network, NXT General Manager William Regal announced that NXT will be paying tribute to the late WWE Hall of Famer “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes with a tag team tournament to be held in his honor. The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will feature the best of NXT’s past, present and future, duking it out for tag team supremacy, with the finals taking place at the next NXT TakeOver, live on WWE Network on Wednesday, Oct. 7.”

– Among those in the crowd for Takeover were legendary music producer Rick Rubin and WWN Live’s Sal Hamamoui and Gabe Sapolsky. As PWMania.com reported, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Sean Waltman, the Flair family, Sgt. Slaughter and others were also in attendance.
