Looking At Current WWE Money In The Bank Winner Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins, a definite star of the future for WWE. Fans know this, however when looking at the way that he’s been booked it can be very easy to forget this. The WWE universe has become used to seeing Seth Rollins losing and looking weak and despite having picked up a win on Monday against Roman Reigns, the trend seems set to continue.

Over the past few months Rollins has picked up an astonishing amount of losses, despite being the top heel in the company with the exception of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. For a wrestler that’s meant to be a future main eventer, WWE has done well to make him look awfully weak which doesn’t make any sense, especially when considering the fact that he holds the Money in the Bank Briefcase which he’ll most likely cash in successfully.

With an obvious changing of the guard occurring within the WWE, it’s not the smartest move to have one of the hottest superstars on the roster losing on a regular basis, otherwise casual fans won’t take him as seriously as they should. The biggest problem that Seth Rollins is facing isn’t losing but rather what is becoming of his reputation due to his constant losing and this is something that WWE should have learned from.

When Rollins betrayed The Shield and subsequently joined the authority, he had a wave of momentum following him and that momentum increased when he entered a feud with Dean Ambrose. Rollins was treated like a main event talent, which was no less than he deserved and it seemed as if WWE had gotten the formula right with him to make him come across as a dominant heel. Unfortunately, this was only temporary.

This isn’t the first time that WWE has done this to a wrestler with a huge wave of momentum; fans vividly remember the treatment that Ryback received when he first burst on to the main roster as a babyface. Ryback was given so much momentum from the wins that he piled up and until he was booked to lose, after he lost he continued losing, and he lost so often that his momentum was damaged beyond repair. Seth Rollins is definitely on this route which is unfortunate.

Seth Rollins has fallen victim to a number of situations since leaving The Shield; not being WWE’s main priority and Money in the Bank winner syndrome to name a few. Most recently Rollins was involved in a mini feud with The Daily Show host Jon Stewart which was ridiculous as it was an attempt to get WWE more viewers. More importantly Seth Rollins was outsmarted by Jon Stewart which was only one of three times that Rollins was made to look weak in this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.

Seth Rollins is in the midst of receiving exposure like he’s never received before however but it won’t affect him positively if he continues to lose. WrestleMania 31 is only 29 days away and it’s possible that Seth Rollins will cash in his MitB briefcase at the event, if WWE book Rollins to do this then they need to find a way to present Seth Rollins as somebody who can fight for himself because there will be a time where he’s involved in a feud that requires him to prove himself in that fashion.

It’s slightly understandable as to why Rollins loses and that’s because he portrayed as a cowardly heel but that doesn’t justify the amount of losses that he’s received. It’s unlikely that WWE are going start booking him strongly anytime soon so the least that they could do is protect him by putting him in more tag team matches and having his partners pick up the loss, and on the rare occasion that he does win he should be picking up the pinfall.

It would be a wise move on WWE’s part to invest more in Rollins and have him look stronger, in case of a turn. At this point in time WWE are repeating the mistake that they made with John Cena, where they book one wrestler well and put a chasm between that wrestler and the rest of the roster. In this case it’s Roman Reigns and given how he’s been received by fans since the split up of The Shield there’s no way that it will end well.

Luckily for Rollins, there’s a very good chance of him being booked better in the future but until then WWE have to begin taking him more seriously because he has been made to look too weak on too many occasions.
