Michael’s Musings – TNA Bound for Glory Predictions

Tonight TNA’s presents it’s biggest PPV of the year Bound for Glory and I know that I cannot be the only one disappointed with the card that TNA has put out this year. Do not get me wrong, WWE has put out some bad Wrestlemania’s in the past and I think this is the TNA equivalent of Wrestlemania 11. The show has two decent matches and the rest are forgettable at best.

Joey Ryan vs Al Snow
Why in the blue hell in the year 2012 is Al Snow getting a match on a Pay Per View? Do the TNA writers truly believe that Al Snow in a match is going to add one single buy to the show? Joey Ryan beating up on Al Snow is not going to help him get over since no one has given a damn about Al Snow in the last decade. Would it have killed TNA to have had Al pick someone from the TNA roster to wrestle in his place than to actually wrestle himself? Mr. Anderson does not have a match and could have perfectly filled the spot, plus we could have gotten a glimpse at what Joey Ryan really do.

WINNER: Joey Ryan

Knockout’s Championship Match
Miss Tressmacher (c) vs Tara

I have made no bones about the fact that I believe Miss Tressmacher to be the end of the Knockouts Division and the beginning of the Divas Division of TNA. She was handed the title on a silver platter because she looked good in a bikini, much like Kelly Kelly or Candice Michelle. Tara is one of the stronest women’s wrestlers in the world and can get a good match out of anyone. Tara now has a gimmick atoned to what Stacy Keibler would have done if she was still in WWE while she was boning George Clooney and rumor has it that her B/F will debut tonight. I think tonight is the night for Tara to get the title with a little help from her lover, who could be anyone from John Morrison to Rob Terry.

WINNER and NEW Knockouts Champion: Tara

X-Division Championship
Zema Ion (c) vs Rob Van Dam

For months on end it has seemed like RVD has been coasting on his legacy and has been a pale shade of the Whole Fn Show that he used to be. He was randomly thownn into a match with Zema Ion because neither one of them had a match for the show, the weird thing is, I think this is just where RVD needs to be in TNA. Rob has always been someone who could put it all on the line for a cool spot and that is what the X-Division is all about. Hopefully tonight is the beginning of the old RVD but it will not be his night to win the title. Zema was a joke of a champion when he got the title but something rare happened once he get it, he got extremely better. He is better in the ring, he is better on the mic, and he is a better all around character. I hope that TNA does not kill the momentum that he has given the title.

WINNER: Zema Ion

Television Championship Match
Samoa Joe vs Magnus

The TNA Television Champions has been the 2nd biggest joke in the company, second only to the Knockouts Tag Team Titles, and has literally no credibility since it was created. TNA now has the opportunity to turn all of that around now that Samoa Joe is the champion. He can help put that title on the map and make it mean something. I expect a decent match out of the former tag team champions with Joe coming out on top.

WINNER: Samoa Joe

TNA Tag Team Championships
Christopher Daniels and Kazarian vs Chavo and Hernandez vs Kurt Angle and AJ Styles

This match is perhaps the greatest blunder of the night. Two of the best wrestlers in the company are STILL lumped together in a tag team instead of fighting for championships like they should. Kurt Angle and AJ Styles are the TNA version of WWE’s Team Hell No. Daniels and Kaz are an amazing tag team and they deserve to be the champions. Kurt Angle and AJ Styles would gain nothing by winning the titles and I doubt think TNA is completely sold with Chavo and Hernandez yet to give them the titles this months, maybe next month.

WINNERS: Daniels and Kazarian

James Storm vs Bobby Roode
Many people would have bet the farm on this match being the main event of the biggest show of the year but when Austin Aries began to gain so much momentum, it was pushed to the back burner. Now James Storm and Bobby Roode will meet in the middle of the ring for their first match since Roode beat Storm at Lockdown. The only problem with this match is that TNA thought it would be a good idea to have some nobody that they are going to shove down our throats become the special guest enforcer. Having King Mo in this match in takes so much away from it, he is not needed nor wanted. I believe that James Storm will win but TNA could try to make Mo relevant by having him cost Storm the match.

WINNER: James Storm

Aces & Eights vs Sting and Bully Ray
I have been wanting to say this for awhile now about the Aces and Eights storyline, if I wanted to watch Sons of Anarchy, I WILL WATCH SONS OF ANARCHY! Many people that believe that Bully Ray being revealed as the man behind the attacks that the Biker Gang has been carrying out but if TNA was smart, they would give us a curveball. Abyss should be the man behind the attacks and his creation of a separate personality in Joseph Parks was just part of the ploy.

WINNER: Aces & Eights

TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match
Austin Aries (c) vs Jeff Hardy

There is no doubt in my mind that this match will be the show stealer and the only that everyone talks about. Austin Aries and Jeff Hardy together have a combustible element about that makes me want to order the PPV just to see this two go at it for the first time. Jeff Hardy has clawed his way back to the top of TNA after nearing suffering a career ending meltdown while Austin Aries has been the man that TNA has counted on for the past 6 months. Aries has become a man obsessed with outdoing Jeff Hardy and that will be his downfall. I believe tonight TNA will reward Jeff for all of his hard work and end their biggest PPV of the Year with a new champion. Whether you love him or you hate him, Jeff Hardy is Jeff Hardy. He is the biggest merchandise seller in the company and he has the world wide recognition that TNA needs its World Champion to have. This match is a Match of the Year candidate and I can only pray that TNA does not fuck it up. They just need to have these to men fight it out by themselves. No swerves, no interference, and no falses finishes.

WINNER and NEW TNA World Champion: Jeff Hardy
