New Company’s Attempt To Trademark “ECW” Rejected

As PWMania.com previously reported, Mocker LLC attempted to trademark the name ECW for wrestling use. In an update to their attempt, the review panel for the United States government has denied their request due to the fact that it could create confusion with WWE’s trademarks which provide similar services.

The refusal letter specifically mentioned ECW One Night Stand, ECW Extremists and ECW Vixens, all of which are owned by WWE.

TNA Wrestling was cited as an example how a trademark owner can have a similar place in the marketplace but with a unique trademark rather than using similar ones owned by another entity in the same marketplace.
