New Details On Edge’s WWE Contract Expiring & WWE Future

Edge’s WWE contract is set to expire at the end of this month, not on May 1, according to PWInsider.

WWE sources have revealed that attempts to sign Edge on a new deal are already underway and that the company are not happy that the news of his contract expiring has been publicly revealed.

One source claims that there have been financial contractual issues and that the company may have “underestimated” that Edge would simply sign any offer that was offered in his new contract.

Assumptions of Edge signing a WWE “legends” deal is not the case. WWE are looking to sign Edge to a completely new contract which involves him to go through their offices for any outside deals, similar to deals Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley are on. The legends deal is more along the lines of talent simply licensing WWE to use their name. Edge’s new WWE contract will have him back under WWE’s control like a regular performer.

Edge’s “Haven” deal was booked outside of WWE and will not be affected by his current contract expiring.
