RSM Nitro
Monday October 16th 2006
FedEx Forum, Memphis, TN
Havoc Renis Supreme

Written by Paul Klimchuk

It was yet anther jammed packed Nitro, fans were on their feet as the pryo blew the roof off the FedEx Forum and things continued as former ECW World Champion Rob Van Dam headed towards the ring and addressed the very loud and vocal crowd.

RVD “ Two weeks ago in this very ring six of the best ECW Wrestlers past and present competed inside a house of fun match. There we sacrificed more then our bodies, more then our lives even more then our souls. We made history, Benoit, Sabu, Big Show, Myself, Abyss and a good friend at least outside the ring Raven. But then last week a man that so called himself “extreme” took out an extremely talent wrestler when a hundred percent Raven. Yes after Kurt lost his number one contenders match fro the Worlds Heavyweight Title. Your own Olympic gold medalist took on Raven and beat him, so that’s cool. But Kurt why, why would you take it to the “extreme” with Raven huh. Just cause you lost dude doesn’t make you any less of a jackass.”

Fans would boo as Angle’s theme hit the PA as the former Worlds Champion stood toe to toe with Van Dam and looked him in the eye smiling as Kurt took the mic.

Angle “ Why...Rob Van Dam wants to know why. Well Rob since it must be 420 for you everyday I’ll just say why not? Raven was weak and hell remember I won this Gold Medal with a broken fraken neck so what excuse did Raven had if he’s so Hardcore? Nothing but the real reason Rob is that the only thing that is said about Nitro is the ECW Worlds Title main eventing a PPV. I mean yes Goldberg and the Undertaker isn’t a five star match but it was for the Worlds heavyweight Championship not the ECW Title. Hell why is it even called a Worlds Title it’s a Hardcore Title at best. Held by the most extremely weak, over weight, over rated, over ugly and lets face it some of the thee most extremely less talented in the world today. From Tazz to you Rob Van Dam”

Before anything more could be said fans were on their feet as Chris Benoit headed towards the ring looking at both Angle and Van Dam.

Angle “ You see even Chris Benoit agrees with me anther great technical wrestler who’s resume includes a little stint in ECW but that’s something Chris wants to forget. So I’ll bet Chris will be pleased to hear that at Halloween Havoc it will be the last time ever the ECW Title will be on a PPV. Because after I take it from Abyss I will burn it right on the spot and piss on what’s left of the extreme championship and Benoit will......”

Fans cheer as Benoit knock Kurt out and begins stomping away at Angle with Van Dam joining in as Benoit would German Suplex Angle across the ring as Van would add the Frog Splash sending a message to Angle as two former ECW roster member leave the ring both monting for the title.

Well with the talk in the ring over it was now time for some action and after last weeks calibration and challenge to any tag team but the MNM, AMW the seven time World Tag Team Champions went toe to toe with gold on the line against the Dudley Boyz. Fans in the Forum couldn’t contain themselves as “lets go Dudley’s and AMW” chants rang throughout before the match was even underway. The match began with Bubba Ray and Storm starting things off with the Tag Champ getting the better of Bubba Ray as he was sent flying into the matt with a high arm suplex before locking in a half Boston Crab early, in fact early enough as Bubba manages to get to the ropes. Storm continues his work on Bubba by sending the Boy into the corner and going to work with punches to gut and then stomping away on Bubba before whipping Ray into the ropes. However the Champ ducks his head to early as Bubba lands a swing neck breaker. Fans cheer as Bubba takes control with a couple of rights and lefts before slamming Storm to canvas with a massive body slam allowing D-Von to get the tag coming off of the second rope with a leg drop onto the neck of the champ. Isolated Storm is beaten down via D-Von and then locked into a sleeper hold in the center of the ring. Fans cheer for Storm to stand up but its no use as Bubba gets a tag and the double team continues as Storm is set high into the air with a double power bomb and into the cover for a near fall until Harris broke the cunt. Fans give a mixed reaction as D-von launches Harris and himself over the top rope. In the ring Bubba taunts Storm up and looks for a Bubba Bomb but Storm reversers into a DDT crashing Bubba’s head to the matt. But just as Storm looks for a tag Harris still on the outside isn’t there. So Storm walks right back into Bubba and this time into the Bubba Bomb. Ref makes the count but Storm kicks out at two and a half. Angry Bubba tags in D-Von and with the ref not looking they land the What’s Up right into Storm’s lower half as D-Von looks for the win but Hairs breaks things up. Fans cheer as AMW comes alive with Storm getting up and sending an illegal Bubba Ray into the turnbuckle before nailing a close line over the top rope. AMW then focus on D-Von with a double super kick sending D-Von to the matt as Harris is finally tagged into. With his lighting quick close lines D-Von is worked over allowing Harris to set up D-Von in the corner for a top rope DDT. As Harris looks for the cover until D-Von kicks out. Harris stomps away on D-Von before tagging in Storm as the Tag Champs take D-Von for a ride landing with a double face buster in the middle of the ring. Fans cheer as all hell breaks loose when Bubba enters the ring an goes to work on Storm battling back with both members of AMW with Bubba gaining the advantage for a short time before AMW work over Bubba Ray with double swinging neck breaker. Fans were on their feet as AMW call for the Death Sentence and it was passed with Harris almost taking D-Von’s head off with the too rope leg drop. Fans cheered at least until Melina hit the ring knocking out the ref with her shoe as Nitro and Mercury took down AMW before landing a title shot into a recovering D-Von Dudley as they placed the title belt in Storms hand before leaving the ring. Fans booed as a the ref called a DQ on AMW for use of the Title, things got from bad to worse as Bubba whom was knocked out at the time began brawling with the Champs as did D-Von and with Bubba gaging the upper hand he called to his brother “ Get the Tables.” Fans cheered as Storm was placed on the table and Harris was sent for the 3-D through the table and Strom. The Boyz looked on with titles in their hands as MNM watched gleefully from the crowd.

Backstage thing were getting nasty as well, with fans cheering at the fact former Lightweight Champion Rey Mysterio was shown in the back heading towards the locker room something wasn’t right. As Rey approached good friends such as Shannon Moore, Gregory Helms and Jeff Hardy but when approached they all turned their backs to the fan favorite all expect for one, the nWo’s own Scott Hall fans booed as Hall came up behind Rey. When asked how was Rey doing, Mysterio replies he’s fine but has a match coming up next. That’s when Hall smiles and says that all taken care of Rey. Fans boo as Hall opens up the locker room door to show Rey’s challenger Jamie Noble sent face first through the wall with the nWo logo painted all over Noble. Hall continues his speech and says I all taken care of so Rey since you have some free time. Kev has invited you to be ringside at his match. Rey still a little confused nodded his head as Hall and Rey headed towards ringside. Mean while cameras remain backstage to show the GM office and outside fans boo as HHH is shown knocking on the door, the boos would get louder as Angle made his way over and a stare down would begin as HHH actually began laughing like a mad man at the state of Angle. HHH said how much of a joke Kurt was only two weeks ago he played the Game the greatest wrestler of all time at Summer Slam and then two weeks later Mr Olympian himself gets beaten down by a ahigh ECW guy and a former footnote Worlds Champion. Angle said it made no difference because by the time the end of Halloween Havoc happen HHH would be the one leaving empty handed without a World Championship. The laughter continued as HHH tries to speak, he reminds Angle all the ECW Title is just what he had become a damn joke. With that fans booed but also cheered as GM McMahon’s door open. Stephanie smiled and turned to Kurt and said what made him think he was going to Havoc to face the ECW Champion. Kurt replied well more or so less wined to Steph that last week he destroyed an ECW Ledged and proved he was extreme enough. Steph said Kurt was right he proved to her he was but not to the ECW Worlds Champion. Abyss has asked for you to face off against RVD and a tag team partner later tonight under extreme rules and Kurt if you win you will face the ECW Champion at Havoc whom ever that maybe. Because later tonight Chris Benoit will face off against the Big Show for a chance next week on our three hour Nitro Spectacular to face Abyss for the ECW Worlds Heavyweight Championship. With Kurt satisfied HHH spoke up and asked about the real wrestling on show the important title the Worlds Heavyweight Championship, more importantly its champion the Undertaker. Fans booed as Steph said Taker wasn’t here tonight but the man that choke slammed you was Kane. HHH smiled and asked if you could face him tonight Steph said yes and since last week Hunter you said your tag team partner was a moron then tonight your tag team partner is how would you say it? Ah yes Mr Olympian Kurt Angle. Fans cheered as Stephanie closed her door and said have fun with Angle and HHH staring down at one anther.

Meanwhile in the ring fans gave a somewhat mixed reaction as Rey Mysterio was sitting down at ringside along with Scott Hall as the nWo’s music hit and out came Kevin Nash and Scott Steiner. Things especially got strange as Nash introduced Rey as the greatest Light Weight of all time and even got Rey to sing his boot. Fans cheered as Team Canada’s Eric Young came out actually and was Nash’s challenge for the evening. To say this was a one-sided fight was an understament as Nash ripped apart poor Eric with sidewalk slam after high impact move. Nash during the match however didn’t act like the nWo giant we have seen in the past, Nash actually got the crowd on his side every time he called for a 619 chant. Well after a big boot busting Eric open and two Jack Knife Power bombs fans were expecting the match to be over. However Steiner came into the ring with a steel chair and tossed it to Nash as Hall knocked the ref out and brought Rey into the ring. Fans were booing as Nash handed Rey the chair and told him to hit Young. With Eric Bloody and barley standing Rey refused, however after Hall pushed Rey right into Young smashing him open even more. Fans were shocked as Rey left the ring and Nash got the victory. With the nWo music playing Hall and Steiner stop Rey from leaving and brought him back into the ring to receive a hug from Nash thanking him for the win and lifting Rey onto his shoulders for a victory party inside the ring.

Backstage fans gave a huge cheer as cameras caught up with now best of bud’s HBK and Y2J inside their dressing room. In a sit down type of interview Y2J explain that Shawn had a huge influence on his wrestling as a child and even though they had many difference over the years helping Shawn last week was the ring thing to do and come next week during Nitro’s Three Hour Specatactular in a Tag Team Street Fight against Team Canada the Heart Break Kid and the King of the World will do the right thing and beat Team Canada again. With the interview over and HBK leaving the ste Team Canada Coach Scott D’AMORE showed up but waving a white flag at Chris. Scott said he wasn’t there for a fight and that Team Canada truly had no beef against a fellow Canadian but as Y2J tried to walk away Bobby stopped him with Scott saying they had a problem with traitors and that’s what Chris was. Scott reminded Chris that with Christian and Edge they all trained at his wrestling school but Scott was fine with Chris leaving to go onto bigger things. The thing Scott had a problem with and all of Canada was Y2J becoming friends with Shawn Michaels. The Heart Break Kid some called but D’AMORE said HBK truly stood for Heart Break Kanadain. Scott said that all the chair shots Jerchico had finally made him King of the Morons because it was Shawn Michaels who stabbed Canada every time he got the chance back in the 90's weather it was telling off the fans, sticking the flag up his nose or screwing Bret Hart. Shawn stops at nothing to screw Canadian’s and Chris he’ll screw you to. Now maybe it won’t be costing you a title bu it will be Shawn costing you the spotlight, you the first undisputed champion in wrestling history, that would be such a crime but Chris you have the power to stop it and you alone well maybe not just you there’s a guy.....Before D’AMORE could finish HBK entered the room and Super Kicked Rode and asked if there was a problem? Jerchico said no he was just showing the biggest ass on Nitro out and with that D’AMORE was super kicked via Y2J as both men left the room.

Staying with Tag Teams live bak inside the FedEx Forum the World Tag Teams Champions AMW were shown still upset about their Tga Team victory heading towards the parking lot until Stevens bumped into a ladder and on top was Jeff Hardy with Matt coming up behind. Fans cheered as a fight looked to break out but Jeff broke things up as he said they weren’t there to fight but ask a question. Matt say it was such a same they way you guys lost tonight and how MNM ruined a perfect Tag Team match. But since the Dudley’s had their shot the brothers Hardy asked for their. Next week Jeff stated at the Nitro spectacular AMW defend the World Tag Team Titles against the Hardy Boyz in a match DQ can’t happen a ladder match. Fans cheered as AMW said they were on with MNM listing behind a near by car. Sticking with champions the former 16 time Champion Ric Flair was backstage showing off the next 20 time Worlds Champion Chris Sabin around back when Ric Flair bumped into the five time Worlds Champion. Ric tried to pass by Booker but he stopped the Nature Boy. Booker said he couldn’t help bu hear Flair talking about Champions to Sabin. Sting, Flair, Hogan, Hart, Michaels, HHH, Taker, Austin hell even Bastia was on that list but hat about the Five Time WCW Champion? Flair said the reason why he wasn’t on the list was first all those men were great champions in the past, second Booker from a Champion to a well a wana be champion WCW doest mean squat. Booker looked at Flair and reasoned tell me you didn’t just say that? Booker said he could beat Flair or Sabin any day any time and really show Flair what a Worlds Champion is. Flair grinned and said okay fin by me, right here right now. Just as it looked like Flair was going to hit Booker Sabin smashed a chair over the WCW Champions back and began beating down with Flair getting some. In fact Flair would smash Booker wide open as Sabin landed the Cradle Shock on the arena floor with ref around Flair told him to count and Sabin got the one, two three for the victory. With Flair and Sabin both sturting in the back fans cheer as Stephanie McMahon is shown with a not so happy look on her face as Sabin and Flair are still celebrating. Once getting their attention Stephanie says she is proud of Chris Sabin and that of Ric Flair for molding a new generation into his image. In fact since Nitro will be three hours next week and that the ECW Title will be defended so will the Worlds Heavyweight Title in fact that will be the Main Event. And since Chris you defeated a champion you will main event in the first hour against Ric Flair and the winner will face Taker in the final hour. Fans aren’t to thrilled as Steph walks away at least until she comes back saying it won’t be just Ric in the match but a triple threat match with Sabin and Flair facing Bastia next week.

World Heavyweight Championship Match
HHH vs. Undertaker (Champion)

ECW Worlds Heavyweight Championship Match
Angle vs. Abyss (Champion)

Next week will be the three hour Nitro Specatactular and the ECW Title will be on the line for either Chris Benoit or Big Show to take. Well their match was up net but before the bell rang the ECW Worlds Champion Abyss manger James Mitchell made his way don to ringside to do color commentary as fans cheered when both Big Show and Chris Benoit headed to the ring. It was almost a re-match form the WWE’s Royal Rumble 2004 expect this match felt bigger and it could have been because of the hot Memphis crowd who was spilt fifty- fifty for each man. The match began and it was Show who seemed to the have the upper hand with his upper hand that was almost as big as Benoit’s before shoving it into a fist and knocking Benoit down almost clear across the ring. Then taking his size 16 boot pushing right off Benoit’s chest. Show then sent Chris into the ropes and met him with a hard left forearm sending the Crippler to the matt as Show locked in a half Boston Crab, but being a submission expert Benoit reached the rope forcing the Big Man to break the hold and Show did just that by lifting Benoit up over his head and throwing him over the top rope and to the floor below. Show stood tall in the ring as the ten count was on Benoit who hadn’t moved since the three mark. At seven fans cheered as Benoit began to stir only to be close line via the big man on the outside and sent into the crowd. Fans stood as Benoit couldn’t mount a come back as Show slammed Benoit face first into the arena wall before sending him sternum first into the guardrail and with the giant charging with ful force Benoit ducked as Show was sent over the guardrail with such force which took park of the rail down. This gave Benoit some time to rest but not much. Once Show broke the count at nine he was looking for Benoit again in the crowd. Once more Show looked unstoppable as Benoit tried to slap Show three times but nothing could stop the giant as Show caught a left and then showed Benoit’s face right into a steel chair before looking over at the glass popcorn machine but just in the tick of time Benoit reversed with a drop toe hold cutting Show open via the glass. With the advantage on his side Benoit dragged a five hundred pound man back to the ringside are and removed half of the stair’s leaving the bottom half. Whatever Benoit had intended wasn’t going to happen for now as the sleeping giant woke up and back body dropped Benoit on the floor below. This time cut all over Show rolled Benoit back into the ring and dropped a leg drop and looked for an early pin fall which Benoit kicked out of. Inside the ring Show worked over Benoit in the corner making the Cripplers chest cheery red after five pan handle slaps to the chest before setting Benoit on the second rope and throwing him to the matt below. Fans were spilt must most began chanting for Benoit as Show stood Benoit up looking for a big boot which Benoit side stepped and locked in a Sharp Shooter unannounced, fans were on their feet as Show was now in pain n the center of the ring. Some fans chanted tap while other cheered for the bloody Big Show and it would be Show getting to the ropes in time as Chris broke the hold. This time the Crippler was now in control and began stalking the Big and from the second rope looked for a cross body but Show would catch Benoit in the act however it wouldn’t last as Show’s face would taste canvas with a huge DDT via Benoit. Fans standing for the former Worlds Heavyweight Champion did something not once but twice a German suplex but with the third in sight Benoit did something a little special as Show was German Suplex over the top rope as Benoit stood on the middle ring rope and threw over the top rope. On the outside Benoit slammed Show’s head into the half of the steel steps Benoit left earlier. With that said Benoit go straight into James Mitchell face and said “ This for Abyss.” With Big Show lying on the stairs Benoit climbs to the top rope and looks for the Diving Head butt, however at the last second Show rolls out of the way and Benoit hits the steps face first. Fans chant Holy Shit over and over again as Big Show breaks the count at nine. Meanwhile cameras catch up to Benoit who’s face is now the same color as the Nitro red ring ropes..Show sensing the end was near threw Chris back into the ring and looked for the Show Stopper but Benoit hooked the second rope and took Show down with an arm drag and locks in the Crossface in the center of the ring. After some tense moments Big Show did not tap, with the blood rushing from both men’s heads the Big Show began to rise and held Benoit on his shoulder before ramming Benoit’s back into the corner. With Benoit on Show’s shoulder’ the Big Man looked for an Electric Chair Drop but again Benoit countered as he rolled Show over and once again locked in the Sharp Shooter. This time the Big Man had nowhere to go and tapped out. Fans cheered as Benoit celebrated in the ring and pointed at Mitchell saying Abyss was next.

Some one who certainly wasn’t next on the card and hasn’t been seen since Summer Slam has been Bill Goldberg. Ever since Bill was defeated via the Big Red Monster and the Undertaker. However fans were shocked to discover a video preview of a man surrounded by a cage all in darkness. The man asked a question what happens when you cage an animal? Images are then shown of Goldberg’s destruction over the years. As cameras did a close up Goldberg’s face is shown saying “ So who wants to cage me?” Fans cheer and then give a some what better fan reaction to the current reigning TV Champion Michael Shane whom last week saw his number one contenders match end in disaster with Christopher Daniels getting Speared off the stage via Edge. When asked about the condition of Daniels was he was still in hospital and seriously injured so with that at Halloween Havoc I must not defend my title. Fans booed at least until AJ Styles came on the scene saying that was so typical of the new HBK. I mean we all know the old HBK would try every way to keep his title and your doing the same thing. Shane reasoned by saying he had nothing to do with what Edge did to Chris. AJ didn’t buy it in fact he outright demanded to face Shane at Havoc for the TV Title. Fans were cheering at least until Lita aka Edge’s girl made her way between the boys. She said that live next week on our three hour debut Edge will make history with his own talk show the Cutting Edge and has invited you Michael the TV Champion as his first guest to explain why he totally and utterly destroyed Daniels and other things. Shane was curious and said he would be there as Lita warned AJ to just stay away from Edge, Shane and the TV Title as both walked off leaving AJ saying stay away that’s not my style.

Well up next was the evenings main event was up next the tag team match under extreme rules which featured the Big Red Machine Kane teaming up with RVD to face the Team of HHH and Kurt Angle. A very unlikely pairing the two had trouble deciding who would start the match at least until Kane decided things for them as Angle was thrown into the ring and the match began. Kane with a lot of anger took it out on Angle as he went for three rides once with a front body slam, the second with a back body suplex and the third time was a hard front suplex. Fans were al for Kane as he stalked Angle around the ring before slamming his jaw shut with a huge boot to the face. Angle dazed didn’t see the eventual tag into RVD whom with chair in hand took advantage of the extreme rules as Angle stood up into a vile chair shot from the top rope with Van Dam’s double axe handle. Fans roared with approval as RVD’s wicked kicks bruised Angel’s sides before Van placed the chair on Angel’s chest as RVD nailed the rolling thunder. RVD had the cover until Kurt kicked out at two, fans were a little shocked to HHH not doing to much to help his partner as Rob stood Angle up only to be leveled by a spinning heel kick as Van Dam again went for the cover which Kurt again kicked out. RVD upset at Angle’s endurance drives a leg drop on Kurt’s neck before setting the chair agin on his chest looking for the Thunder but Kurt pushes the chair right in Van Dam’s face knocking him out. Kurt slowly stirs and crawls over to his corner looking for a tag from HHH. Who has his hand extended but just as Kurt reaches HHH pulls back his hand and waves bye bye to Angle as Van Dam drop kicks a steel chair into Kurt’s face busting Angle ope. But just as HHH begins walking up the ramp fans cheer as Kane pulls HHH by the hair and down to the metal ramp. With a fight inside the ring outside Kane smashes Hunters face into the guardrail before sending Trips knees first into the steel steps. Inside the ring Angle and Van Da begin trading punches with Angle gaining the upper hand with two straight upper cuts before slamming Van Dam into the canvas with a Belly to Belly Suplex. With steel chair in sight Angle grins under his somewhat bloody face as he sits the chair up and again Belly to Belly Suplexes Van Dam through the chair. On the outside Hunter hasn’t gained control of the situation as Kane lifts HHH up and slams him onto the aannouce table. With both men on the table Kane looks for a power bomb but Hunter low blows Kane and sets him up for the Pedigree but Kane reverses and back body drops Hunter to the floor below. Fans boo as they wanted to see some destruction but wouldn’t have to wait long as Hunter took out the sledge hammer and knock Kane’s brains out with a vile shot. Back in the ring Kurt taking full control with chair in hand and placing it on Van Dam’s ankle, while Kurt climbs the second rope and jumps down hard almost breaking Rob’s entire leg. Fans boo as Rob screams in pain as Angle laughs as the straps come down and Kurt hooks the Angle lock in the middle of the ring. On the outside Hunter taunts the fans as Kane leaps over and lands a hard forearm shot to the Games back before breaking Angle’s submission on Van in the ring. With Kane back fans cheers Angle is double teamed with each man slamming Kurt’s head with a double chair shot as Van Dam goes for the cover HH breaks things up. An all brawl has happened with HHH slamming his Sledge Hammer into the gut of Van Dam as Angle low blows Kane before hitting a hard chair shot busting the monster open. With both men down Hunter and Angle stare at one anther before wickedly grinning s Kurt slides in two tables while HHH comes back with a heap of bared wire. Fans chant “ECW” over and over upsetting HHH as Angle places around ten strands of the barbed wire on each table. And taking their victims Angle tries for the Angle slam from the top rop but Van Dam holds on and sends Kurt back first onto the table with all the wire. Fans chant Van Dam as HHH looks over and for a moment loses control and turns back right into Kane for a choke slam off the turnbuckle and on to the arena floor s Van Dam looks for a five star frog splash on Angle. But Kurt moves out of the ay as Van Dam goes threw the table. With all four men down, its HHH and Kane who begin to stir and fire shots back and fourth with each man again on the announce table with HHH reversing a head lock right into the Pedigree threw the table. Back in the ring Angle stands up all cut up but not as bad a Van Dam and host Rob up and lands the Angle Slam on the other table as has the hook for the pin fall.

On the outside HHH takes the mic and demands that Taker come out here now. HHH states he’s beaten Kane, Angle, Bastia and he’ ready for the deadman wether or not he’s here next week or the week after. HHH is tried of the mind games so if Taker’s got the guts he could play the game now. The lights go dark and the gong is heard as Taker’s voice is thundering saying. He’ll be at Nitro next week but the question is weather the Game will be and with that lighting hit the ring with a total black out and when the lights came back on it was the Undertaker standing in the ring with no sing of HHH as Nitro went off the air.
