2007 KICKS OFF BIG TIME!!!!
Inside a sold out MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada it was a special Wednesday Night Nitro as the show kicked off with GM Stephanie McMahon who came out and she said that 2007 should be another great year for Nitro, she said that in 2 weeks time the Royal Rumble will take place and already 3 matches have been signed for this event, she said that at the end of last year everything became perfectly clear that nobody should mess with her and HHH you thought you could but paid big time but as you already heard it will not stop there because at the Rumble you will face a returning Big Show in a Qualifying match to enter the Royal Rumble match and if you can beat the 500 pound giant than you get spot number 1 and if you want to become Heavyweight champion you have to beat 29 other superstars to do that, this brought out HHH and he said that he could have underestimated Stephanie but she couldn’t hold him back, he will beat Big Show and than he will beat 29 other superstars to walk out of the Rumble as World Heavyweight champion and there wasn’t anything that Stephanie could do about that, Stephanie said that HHH needed to think again because she reminded him to the beat down he got from Kane at Santa’s Invasion, she said that it could happen again tonight if she wanted to but she had other ideas, she said that HHH will be suspended this week and have to leave the arena in 5 minutes otherwise you will get yourself arrested and one more thing, next week you will face Kane & Undertaker in a Handicap match, so we will see how you will enter the Royal Rumble as Stephanie and walked away.
In the first match of the evening it was Chris Jericho taking on the leader of Team Canada Bobby Roode, Jericho took out his frustrations on Roode and beat him down pretty bad, Jericho nailed a German suplex on Roode and went to the top and delivered a flying elbow but Roode kicked out, Roode than countered Jericho and nailed him with a big boot to get momentum, Roode nailed a spinebuster and covered but Jericho kicked out, Roode slammed Jericho into the corner and followed but Jericho nailed him with a elbow and than dropkicked Roode down, Jericho than hit the Lionsault on Roode but Roode kicked out, Jericho than looked for the Walls of Jericho but Roode countered it with a roll up but Jericho kicked out, Jericho than missed a closeline as Roode than nailed a neckbreaker on Jericho but Jericho kicked out, Roode than looked for the Northern Lariat but Jericho escaped it and put Roode into the Walls of Jericho as Roode couldn’t do anything else than to tap out as Jericho released him but when he turned around it was Shawn Michaels who was in the ring and than nailed Jericho with Sweet Chin Music as Michaels stood over a fallen Jericho and told Jericho that he had his number at the Rumble.
In a Royal Rumble Qualifying match it was Ric Flair with Chris Sabin as he took on Jamie Noble as Flair said before the match that Noble isn’t even worth fighting against, he said why should he fight Noble and told Noble if he wants it easy he should lay down and than walk away as nothing happened but Noble refused and said he wanted that opportunity entering the Rumble as Sabin laughed at him and than nailed Noble with the Cradle Shock as Flair ordered the ref to ring the bell to start the match as Flair than pinned Noble for the win as Ric Flair as entered himself into the Royal Rumble as both men were laughing.
Backstage we see X Division champion Bryan Danielson with Paul London, Danielson thanked London for his help at Santa’s Invasion and said they showed the world that they could beat a larger superstar, London thanked Danielson for his words and than said he liked Danielson but both had the same desire and that is to be X Division champion, London than said that he reminded Danielson onto his own words and that was a re-match between both men, London said he would love to battle Danielson at the Rumble for the Championship, Danielson said he did give London a re-match for the title and he agreed to do a match against each other at the Royal Rumble, he said no matter who walk out as winner they would give the fans a match they would never forget as London agreed as they shook hands.
Chris Benoit got himself a great opportunity as he took on World Heavyweight champion the Undertaker for the gold as Benoit hooked it up with the deadman but Taker seemed to much for Benoit in the early going as Taker overpowered his opponent, Taker did some old school on Benoit but Benoit kicked out, Taker looked for a Chokeslam but Benoit got himself out of it and than nailed three German suplexes on the phenom and went to the top and delivered a diving head butt but Taker kicked out, Benoit than nailed a double underhook suplex and covered but Taker kicked out, Benoit than put Taker into a head lock but Taker countered with a fall away slam and sat back up, Taker send Benoit into the ropes and connected with a big boot and than dropped a leg drop on Benoit, Taker went to the top and delivered a flying closeline on Benoit but Benoit kicked out, Taker send Benoit into the ropes but missed a closeline as Benoit nailed Taker with a DDT and than put the Lord of Darkness into the Sharpshooter but Taker could reach the ropes to break it, Benoit than looked for the Crossface but Taker fought himself out of it and nailed Benoit with a elbow to the face and than closelined him down big time, Taker than nailed a back body drop on Benoit and than awaited him to get back up as Benoit turned around Taker grabbed him by the throat and Chokeslammed him right to Hell as Taker than signalled for the end and there it comes Tombstone Piledriver that shook the ring as Taker retained his World Heavyweight Championship but Benoit showed he could be a contender for the title.
Backstage we see Kevin Nash, Scott Hall & Batista standing, Nash said that Batista had all the tools of becoming the best superstar, Nash said he could make him that if he would join the New World Order, Nash said he still considers himself Championship material but he needed a younger hungry superstar who would follow his footsteps to become the best, Batista said he already showed that he was the best and reminded Nash of beating him twice for the Heavyweight Championship, Nash didn’t like that and said that Batista haven’t done anything good since dropping that title and reminded him on his losing streak on PPV events, Nash said if Batista wants to become a champion again he should listen to Nash and join the New World Order, Batista thought about it and said he couldn’t decide right now, Nash said fine and he said that next week Batista would face Scott Steiner and he said that he expected to hear what his decision would be as Batista said fine.

Next was a re-match of Santa’s Invasion as Tag champions MNM took on former champions AMW for the Tag Team Championship, AMW started the match aggressive and wanted to get back what belonged to them and showed great team work but MNM fought back as champions should do and took over the match and eventually looked to have won the match when they nailed the Snap Shot on Storm but Harris could break the count as hell than broke loose as AMW than seemed to have the number of MNM but Melina interfered and nailed a low blow to Harris but Harris double closelined MNM and eventually AMW nailed the Death Sentence on Mercury but it was than the Honour Society hitting the ring attacking the champions & AMW as the ref called for the bell as Cade & Jindrak nailed the Mark of Honour on Nitro & Harris but it was than the Hardy Boys coming down to ringside and attacked the Society as all hell broke loose between the four teams as several officials tried to break the teams up as GM McMahon appeared on the apron and she said that since all four teams want to get it on she would book a match between the teams at the Royal Rumble, she said that next Sunday it would be a Fatal Four Ladder Match for the World Tag Team Championship.
It was than time for the main event as ECW champion Abyss had to defend his title in a Extreme Rules Match against the monster Kane, Kane made it known that he wanted the title and hooked it up with the champion as it was everything goes, Kane took the upperhand in the early going and slammed Abyss several times into the corner and nailed a elbow as Kane went to the outside and brought in the steel steps but Abyss fought back and nailed a DDT onto the steps but Kane kicked out, Abyss picked up the steps and nailed it right into the face of Kane sending him down and than slammed it again onto the back of Kane who rolled to the outside as Abyss followed, Abyss picked up Kane and slammed him back first into the ring post as Abyss grabbed a chair but Kane kicked it into the face of Abyss and closelined him down, Kane than choked Abyss with some cables and brought him back into the ring as Kane followed with a chair and clocked it several times into the face of the champion as Kane covered but somehow Abyss kicked out, Kane than put Abyss his head onto the steps as Kane nailed the chair right onto Abyss who was in real pain as Kane covered but again Abyss kicked out, Kane than send Abyss into the ropes and nailed him with a big boot and than went to the top and delivered a flying closeline on the champion but Abyss kicked out again, Kane wanted to finish Abyss and grabbed him by the throat and Chokeslammed him right onto the steps but Abyss kicked out just in time as Kane couldn’t believe it and grabbed the chair and nailed Abyss with it several times, Kane slammed Abyss into the corner and followed but Abyss countered with a big boot and than grabbed Kane and nailed a side walk slam and covered but Kane kicked out, Abyss send Kane into the ropes and caught him and nailed a spinebuster on him and again covered but again Kane kicked out, Kane sat back up but Abyss grabbed him by the throat and nailed a Chokeslam of his own as Abyss signalled for the end but Kane somehow got out of the Black Hole Slam and nailed a DDT of his own, Kane than looked for a Tombstone onto the chair but Abyss escaped it and nailed a low blow to Kane and kicked him into the face and powerbombed him right onto the chair but Kane kicked out, Abyss send Kane into the ropes and grabbed him and than nailed a devastating Black Hole Slam right onto the steel steps as Abyss covered and got the win in a exciting and brutal main event as Abyss held his title in the air Kane slowly sat back up and looked at Abyss as Abyss looked to Kane as both men got face to face as the show ended.
