MANIA SHAPES UP!!!!
The night began with Chris Sabin coming out first inside the sold out Carrier Dome in Syracuse, Sabin said that last week he was once again on the last end losing in a match he could have won, he said that last week Flair again didn’t help him enough to get another shot at the title he lost 2 weeks ago, he called out Flair because he wanted a apology, Flair came out and he said that Chris needs to remember that he still is a young superstar but has proven that he can do so many great things, he said that Sabin walked the long way going to the top, he is a 3 time X Division champion, a 1 time TV champion and a 1 time Heavyweight champion, he has accomplished so many great things but he still needs to learn more, Sabin said that Flair had taught him many great things but he also cost him the last 2 matches, he cost him the Heavyweight Championship and he apologised for that but last week he again didn’t do the right thing and he cost him a 1# contenders spot to face the Undertaker at Mania for the Heavyweight Championship, he said that he wanted another apology of Flair, Flair thought about it and said that it was a mistake but he would do whatever is possible in giving Chris another title match, Chris said that it would be the right thing to do and opened his arms as Flair got into them as they hugged but Sabin than quickly grabbed Flair and nailed the Cradle Shock on him as the fans were stunned of what Sabin did to his mentor, Sabin took the mic and said that Flair wouldn’t make any mistakes anymore for him, he said that if he can’t have a title match at Mania, he will make sure that he will have a match instead as he would face his so called mentor Ric Flair one on one and than he will let Flair see who would prevail because he has his number.
In the first match of the evening Chris Benoit took on Jerry Lynn of the ECW Alliance as Benoit controlled the match in the early going and beat down Lynn badly, Benoit nailed him with 5 consecutive suplexes but Lynn kicked out, Benoit nailed a diving head butt but Lynn kicked out again, Lynn found some momentum and dropkicked Benoit down, he than held Benoit in several submissions but Benoit refused to tap out and eventually got out with a fall away slam, Benoit nailed a atomic drop on Lynn and a Russian leg sweep as Benoit than wanted to end the match and put Lynn into the Crossface as Lynn couldn’t do anything else than to tap out as Benoit took a easy win, after the match Benoit took a mic and said that it was time to do something new at Mania, he said that there were dozens of superstars that wants to compete for the biggest prices in this industry, he said he would love to be Heavyweight champion and since there are 2 titles for it he said that in the match he wanted to see happening, the winner could win a opportunity in challenging the Heavyweight champion or ECW champion, they could cash in there opportunity, he said that the match he was talking about is a Money in the Bank match with a briefcase hanging above the ring and you can only win the match by climbing a ladder and get the briefcase and the opportunity, he said that 6 men will enter the match and one leaves with a title shot, he said that he already discussed this match with GM McMahon and she liked the idea so now we will have 6 qualifying matches in seeing who will enter this match for a title shot.
It was than time for General manager Stephanie McMahon coming out, she said that she had accepted a match against HHH at Mania but she would have someone in her corner to help her beat HHH, she said that HHH wanted to know who would be the superstar that would kick is ass so badly that he would never accepted this match, Stephanie said that she reminded so many superstars not the mess with the wrong people but instead HHH choose the opposite and messed with the boss of the show, how stupid can you be, because it is a Handicap Match and she is GM and she can make the rules of the match very simple or change some rules in the process, in either way HHH will lose and pay for it but maybe HHH can overcome the odds and walk away a winner but that would mean that her job could be over as well, this brought out HHH and he said that Stephanie has said so many things but if he remembered correctly she still hasn’t named her partner for the match, HHH said it didn’t interested him any bit, he wanted to know which superstar he has to beat at Mania, Stephanie said ok she would reveal her partner, as the pyro’s went off as it was the Big red monster Kane coming to ringside as HHH looked at him as Kane entered the ring, Stephanie said surprise Hunter, she had chosen Kane because he has beaten you so baldy the last couple of times that he was the right superstar to do the job and thankfully Paul Bearer agreed with me, Kane got in the face of HHH as Stephanie said that HHH would see Hell at Mania and that it would be the end of there feud, HHH than said that he may go to Hell but he would take someone with him as he than attacked Kane but Kane fought back as Kane overpowered HHH and eventually closelined him over the ropes to the outside as HHH backed up the ramp as Stephanie laughed and said that this was just the beginning as Kane unleashed all corners into fire.
In the next match it was a X Division Tag Team match as Gregory Helms & Austin Aries took on Bryan Danielson & Paul London, this match was off the charts as fans loved the complete match as all the high stops were pulled out of the closet, in the early going the team of X division champion Danielson & London showed great team work and isolated Aries, they double teamed him on several occasions, London nailed a side walk slam as Danielson delivered a flying elbow and covered but Aries kicked out, Aries found momentum and nailed Danielson with a double arm DDT and tagged in Helms who beat down Danielson, London entered the ring but Helms dropkicked him over the ropes to the outside and than elevated himself over the ropes right onto London as the fans loved it, Aries entered the ring and nailed a backbreaker on Danielson and went to the top and delivered with a flying body splash but Danielson kicked out, Aries again went to the top and nailed Danielson with a moonsault but Danielson once again kicked out, Helms on the outside slammed London into the steel steps and than entered the ring as they send Danielson into the ropes and connected with a double back body drop, Helms than dropped a elbow as Aries covered but Danielson kicked out, Aries than nailed a superkick for another cover but Danielson kicked out, London was back up the apron as Aries send Danielson into the ropes but missed a closeline as Danielson than dropkicked Aries down and made the hot tag to London who closelined Aries several times down as Helms entered the ring but London picked him up with a atomic drop and than nailed a German suplex on him, London than send Aries into the ropes and caught him with a back body suplex on covered but Helms broke the count as all four superstars battled it out with each other, Danielson worked on Helms as London did on Aries as they slammed them in opposite corners as they than wanted to hit them against each other but Helms & Aries countered that as Danielson & London hit each other as Aries than hit a DDT on London who rolled out of the ring as Helms picked up Danielson and nailed him with the Shining Wizard for the win as Helms & Aries shocks the X division champion & former champion as they scored a huge win here tonight.
In the next match it was Kevin Nash taking on X division superstar Rey Mysterio as Nash took full control over Mysterio and beat him down pretty bad after what happened last week, Nash slammed Rey hard into the corner and followed with a stiff closeline, Nash than nailed Rey with two massive elbows, Nash picked up Rey and dropped him head first onto the turnbuckles and than closelined him down, Nash was laughing and saying that they were lucky last week, he send Rey into the ropes but misses a big boot as Rey than nailed a baseball slide on the legs of Nash and continued to work on the legs of Nash, he was able to get Nash off his feet and tried to put him in a submission but Nash kicked him away and got back up, Rey than dropkicked Nash right into the face and covered but Nash kicked out, Rey went to the top and dived to Nash but Nash caught him in mid air and than nailed him with a huge powerslam as Rey was hurt, Nash send Rey into the ropes and connected with a big boot and signalled for the end and picked up Rey and nailed a devastating Jackknife powerbomb that should have broken Rey in half but Nash wasn’t done as he picked up Rey and delivered him with a second Jackknife and put his leg on the chest of Rey for the win as Rey was bleeding from his mouth after two devastating Jackknifes as Nash laughed and said Rey deserved it.
Bill Goldberg made his way out as he said that last year he was in a huge match at Mania, he and 3 others battled it out for the than RAW Heavyweight Championship but didn’t win it, people have asked him why he did what he did last week beating Show down, Goldberg said it was the time of year to make a name for yourself, he said that he had done enough great things to the past but he looked to his future and he sees himself a Heavyweight champion again and why not take down the biggest athlete that is on the roster, he said that Show was back from a injury he suffered last year but it didn’t stop him, he said that if Show wants it he wants his ass in a match at Mania to see who is the better man, he said he can beat every superstar that there is to beat and reminded everyone on his winning streak in WCW, he said that he has beaten Show in the past and last week he shocked the world that he can nail a Jackhammer on Show and he said that he can do that even with Show knowing that it comes, this brought out Big Show who said that last week Goldberg was a coward attacking him from behind, he said that he knew the strategy Bill had and if he wants him so badly he will have him at Mania, Show said that Bill wants to make a name for himself over his head but it would never happen, you can say whatever you want Bill but you know just like me and all fans that I have beaten you as well, Show said that a win at Mania against Bill should deserve him a shot at the gold as well so he would accept Goldberg his challenge, Bill said that he knew Show would accept it because he has a fighting spirit as well but it wouldn’t help him this time and he will make Show retire after there match is over, Show laughed and said that Bill had a big mouth and couldn’t back up his own words as he kicked Bill in the midsection and grabbed him by the throat and nailed a huge Chokeslam on Bill as the fans loved it as Show put his hand in the air.
Last week Shawn Michaels battled Chris Masters and won after a DQ when Jericho interered and tonight both men went to a re-match as HBK wanted to finish Masters off quickly but Masters showed his power and beat down HBK instead, Masters nailed a pump handle slam and a gorilla press slam on HBK but HBK kicked out, Masters even put HBK in a backbreaker and held him in a submission but HBK refused to tap, Masters nailed a side walk slam for another cover but HBK kicked out, Masters slammed HBK into the corner and followed but HBK nailed him with a elbow and closelined him down, HBK went to the second rope and nailed a elbow on Masters, HBK send Masters into the ropes and dropkicked him down as HBK went to the top and delivered a flying elbow on Masters as he tuned up the band but there comes Chris Jericho down to ringside and distracted the ref as HBK saw it and pushed the ref out of the way and wanted to go at it with Jericho but Masters attacked HBK from behind, Masters send HBK into the ropes but misses a closeline as HBK delivered a flying closeline on Masters and again tuned up the band and looked for Sweet Chin Music but again Jericho distracted HBK as the ref told Jericho to back off as Jericho wanted to enter the ring but Masters was back up and grabbed HBK from behind in the Master Lock as HBK couldn’t escape it and tried to reach a rope but Masters held him in the centre of the ring as the ref asked HBK but HBK faded away as the ref called for the bell as Masters scored a huge win here tonight as he released the hold but Jericho entered the ring and laughed and than grabbed HBK and put him into the Walls of Jericho as several officials came down to break up the hold as eventually Jericho did and yelled at HBK if he was embarrassed enough to fight him.

We see Chris Benoit in the office of Stephanie McMahon as Stephanie said that Benoit had a great idea for Mania and she almost wanted to reward him with a automatic place in that match but Benoit said he didn’t needed to because he wanted to beat someone down before entering the match, Stephanie said ok if that is what you wants than it was fine, Benoit than asked her what matches would happen to see who would qualify for the Money in the Bank match, Stephanie said that she has made the matches and she said that Benoit will face Johnny Nitro of MNM, Kurt Angle faces Booker T, Jeff Hardy faces Randy Orton, AJ Styles faces Rhino, Rob van Dam faces Bobby Roode and Edge faces Christian, Benoit said that he never faces Nitro before but it would be interesting to see what happens and he said the other matches looked fine as well but he questioned why TV champion Chris Daniels wasn’t in a match, Stephanie said that Daniels should defend the TV title at Mania and therefore she didn’t put him in a match because she had a match in mind that would blew the roof off as well, she said that next week it will be Michael Shane v John Cena and the winner will meet TV champion Chris Daniels at Mania for a TV Championship match and also next week we will see 2 qualifying matches for the Money in the Bank.
It was time for the main event as Rob van Dam had a change to win back the ECW Championship as he faced off against Abyss in the main event as the match was under extreme rules, RVD took quickly a chair and nailed Abyss with it several times, but Abyss fought back and blocked a chair shot and punched it right into the face of RVD, Abyss than picked up RVD and nailed a powerslam on him as Abyss grabbed the chair and nailed it several times onto the back of RVD who rolled to the ring in pain, Abyss than slammed RVD hard into the corner and followed with a closeline, Abyss than nailed a back body suplex out of the corner and covered but RVD kicked out, Abyss than went to the outside and brought in a table and set it up in a corner and worked on RVD with some hard right hands and than send him right to the table but RVD reversed it as Abyss went right threw the table as fans loved it and stood on there feet as RVD covered but Abyss kicked out, RVD than picked up Abyss and nailed a double arm DDT right onto a chair and again covered but Abyss once again kicked out, RVD than went to the outside and found a baseball bat with barbed wire underneath the ring and went back in the ring and nailed it right into the face of Abyss knocking him down and than continued to beat him down with it as Abyss was bleeding on his arms and back, RVD send Abyss into the ropes and clocked the bat right into the midsection of Abyss and than he grabbed Abyss and nailed a piledriver right onto the bat as Abyss could have been broken in half but somehow he was able to kick out as RVD couldn’t believe it, RVD than went to the outside and brought in another table and set it up and put Abyss onto the table as RVD went to the top and signalled for the end as he looked for the 5 Star Frog Splash but Abyss got off the table as RVD crashed right threw it as the fans still were on there feet, Abyss got up and saw the barbed wire bat and picked it up and put it right into the face of RVD who screamed it out as RVD was bleeding pretty bad, Abyss set up two tables at ringside and than he grabbed RVD as he slammed him in the corner and put him onto the top turnbuckle as Abyss followed and nailed RVD with some hard right hands as he than picked up RVD as he stood onto the turnbuckles as well as the fans couldn’t believe it as Abyss jumped off the turnbuckles with RVD right threw the two tables as the fans went nuts as both men could have been broken in half as the ref checked on both men as Abyss slowly got up his feet as the fans cheered him on as he than grabbed a bag and brought it into the ring and unleashed it as thousands of tumbtacks fell onto the mat as he than rolled RVD back in the ring and grabbed him by the throat and chokeslammed him right into the tumbtacks as RVD was in a huge pain but Abyss wasn’t done as he picked him up and nailed a devastating Black Hole Slam in the tacks and covered for the win as Abyss retained the ECW Championship here tonight as fans were on there feet cheering him on but lights went out as a gong was heard as the lights went on Taker was in the ring looking at Abyss who turned around as Taker grabbed him by the throat and Chokeslammed Abyss right into the tacks as well as Taker looked on how Abyss was under the tacks as the show went off the air.
