The night started off with footage from last week’s epic cage match between Batista and Goldberg. We are then taken to the back with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash congratulating Batista on his win. Batista stands up and tells them no thanks to Hall. Scott explains that he was just attacking Batista to make the crowd believe that…Batista said that that was enough and that he has a big match tonight and he’d like to be left alone. Nash said no problem and left. Hall stood there and when Batista asked him to leave, said “I still don’t like you”. He walked out and Batista watched him walk away.
We’re taken to the ring and Paul Heyman is in the ring with Rob Van Dam, Mike Awesome, Jerry Lynn, Rhino, Raven, & Sabu. He has a mic and says that this Sunday, at Judgment Day, two things will happen. ONE, Sabu will show CM Punk what true hardcore wrestling is, something Raven could not. AND, Rob Van Dam will show Edge why he won the MITB ladder match at Wrestlemania. Edge then comes out with a mic. He says that at Judgment Day, he will prove that RVD’s win was a fluke, and the Alliance won it for him. Van Dam then grabbed the mic from Heyman and told Edge to get his ass down here and we’ll have a fight. Edge smiled and ran towards the ring. He slid into the ring and hit Van Dam with a spear and then rolled out of the opposite side of the ring. Out comes Jerry Lynn and Raven but Edge hits Raven with a chair and throw Lynn through the announce table. Mike Awesome and Rhyno then come out and go for Edge but Edge moves and Rhyno misses the GORE and goes out into the audience. He then hits Awesome with the chair and then drop toe holds him into the steel steps. He then turns towards the ring and Sabu is flying out. He moves and Sabu lands hard on his back on the audience barrier. He rolls into the ring and starts punching RVD. He throws him in the corner and starts stomping on him. Heyman then goes for him from behind and Edge turns around and hits him. He then goes back and stomps on RVD some more. He then turns around and receives a GORE from Rhyno. Rhyno then rolls RVD out from the bottom rope and helps him to the back. RVD stops, and walks back to the ring as Edge is getting up. He grabs a mic and tells Edge that tonight, he wants him. Edge smiles and says that that’s all he wanted. RVD throws the mic down and walks out as we go to a commercial break.
We’re back and Steph is in her office. Chris Jericho is in her office and she asks him why he is always in her office tryin to kiss her ass. HE said that he finds her very attractive and that he thinks she leads this show very well. She asks him to leave and he said that he just wants to talk. She said that if he doesn’t leave…Triple H then comes in. He looks at Jericho and then looks at Steph. He said that he wants to know what the meaning of this is. She asks him what, and he says that he was told he has a match with Big Show tonight. She said that it is to prep him for his match at Judgment Day. Jericho then tells her that that is an awesome decision. Triple H looks at Jericho and then tells her that he’ll show to her AND Khali that his reign of terror ends at J-Day, and that he has no place on Nitro.
Back in the ring, and Chris Sabin is calling out Kurt Angle. He said that at Judgment Day, he will be earning a title shot, and will prove to everyone that it really WAS Flair who screwed him out of his title matches. Flair then came down to the ring and told Sabin that that was bull, and that he has tried to tell Sabin time and time again that he wasn’t ready. Sabin told him to shut up and that…Angle’s music hit and he came out on the entrance ramp. He had a mic, and told Sabin that at Judgment Day, he’ll prove to Sabin that Flair was right, and that he ISN’T ready. Angle walks down to the ring and Sabin throws off his shirt as He goes after Flair. Flair then fights back with chops and Sabin then low-blows Flair and goes after Angle but Angle and hits Sabin with an angleslam. HE then took his singlet straps down and tried to lock Sabin in the anklelock but Sabin reversed out and threw Angle out of the ring. Flair came up behind Sabin though and low blowed him, leading to a figure four leglock until Sabin tapped. Flair and Angle then stood above Sabin. Angle then locked Sabin in the anklelock as Flair left. Sabin switched again, however, and kicked Angle out of the ring again. Angle was pissed and grabbed a chair and Sabin ran out of the ring and went down and hti Flair with a dropkick to the back of the head, knocking Flair off the entrance ramp through some tables below!! OMG!! Flair wasn’t moving as Angle ran down and tried to get Sabin with the chair but Sabin ducked and kicked him in the gut. He then grabbed the chair and hit Angle with it, almost knocking Angle off also. Angle teetered, and then Sabin hit him again. Angle teetered some more, and then Sabin hit him again. He fell off and through some tables beside Flair! OMFG!!! Neither Flair nor Angle are moving and the EMT’s are tending to them as Sabin holds up the chair and walks out.
We’re back from commercial and Batista is in the ring with Nash and Hall. Nash is pumping up Batista with Hall standing in the corner. Out comes Steiner, with Masters and Goldberg in tow. Steiner ran right in and went for Batista as the bell rang. Masters attacked Nash on the outside as Goldberg and Hall looked at each other, teasing a fight, but nothing happened. Masters and Nash took the fight to the back as Batista is throwing Steiner into the corner. He hits him with shoulders in the corner and then clotheslines him out of the ring. Hall then rolls him back in the ring and Batista yells at him. HE kicks him in the gut and powerslams him. He irish whips him into the ropes and hits a spinebuster and then throws him back out of the ring. Hall, once again, rolls him back in. Batista then goes out and yells at Hall. Hall then pushes Batista and walks out. Batista turns around into a spear from Goldberg as the ref was telling Hall to leave and missed it! Goldberg rolls Batista in and Steiner goes at him with clubs to the back and then throws him in the corner. He hits shoulder thrusts and then misses a clothesline in the corner and Batista comes back with a spear but Scott moves and Batista goes into the corner. Scott rolls him up for a 2 count and then gets him up in the rack! Batista screams in pain and gets ahold of the ropes! Steiner holds on until the 4 count and then throws him over the ropes!!! He lands hard on the outside and Goldberg hits another spear as the ref tells Steiner to move back!!! He rolls him back in the ring as Steiner puts him in the Steiner recleiner! Batista has no where to go and is forced to submit! Steiner and Goldberg then stand tall in the ring as Batista rolls out and motions that they are his next time.
We’re back and Jericho is in McMahon’s office again. He has flowers and tells her that she looks very good in her outfit. She blushes and tells him he’s flattering. She then says that at Judgement Day, if he wins, she’ll go out on a date with him. She smiles and tells her thank you. HE then leaves the room but FLIES back in and rolls over her desk! She shrieks and Michaels comes in and then hits him with a chair! She tells him to get the hell out and he smiles and leaves as Steph checks on Jericho.
In the ring is Triple H. HE has a sledgehammer as Big Show’s music hits. Show comes down to the ring and the ref takes Trip’s sledge away. Show then comes in and goes after Triple H but Triple H ducks, hits him with some rights, and then kicks him in the crotch. Big Show holds himself and drops down to two knees as Triple H goes out and gets his sledgehammer. He rolls back in and hits Show in the head with it. He then hits him with repeated shots to the head and groin. Show is bleeding and Triple H gets him up to his knees and then hits a pedigree!! Khali then comes out and Triple H challenges him to come to the ring. Khali comes down to the ring, but doesn’t enter it. Triple H smiles and turns around as Show is getting up and hits Show with the sledge. Show goes down and isn’t moving and Triple H holds up his sledgehammer as Khali holds up his hands. They stare each other down as we go to a commercial.
We’re back and Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy are in the ring. MNM then come down to the ring and the ref tells Nitro & Jeff to leave as we have Matt taking on Mercury. The bell rings and they lock up and Mercury takes Matt straight to a headlock and reverses behind to a arm bar behind. Matt then slides down and reverses under Mercury for a two count and then Mercury hits a dropkick. HE then gets a front headlock and reverses behind and gets the arm again. He then picks Hardy up and hits him with a short arm clothesline. HE then throws him into the corner and hits a dropkick into the corner. HE then jumps to the top and comes down with a clothesline but Matt reverses into a side effect!! They’re both down as the ref starts his count and then stops to see Jeff and Nitro fighting at ringside. He goes out to break it up and Matt looks out and Mercury low blows him. He then hits a plancha over the top rope onto Hardy. Nitro and Mercury both go back in the ring. Merucyr beats on Matt as the ref tells Nitro to leave. Merucury then picks Matt up for a snap shot. Nitro goes and gets Matt ready for it, but Jeff dropkicks Nitro in the stomach and Matt rolls up Mercury for the pin!! Matt and Jeff then roll out of the ring as Mercury holds his head in his hands as Nitro motions that at Judgment Day, victory is his.
Back from commercial and Stephanie is walking in the hallway when Paul Bearer comes up to her. He tells her that at Judgment Day, he guarantees victory for the Undertaker, and maybe afterwards, him and her could go out on a date. She pushes by and says she doesn’t think so. HE grabs her and she slaps him. HE then grabs her again and tells her not to…Abyss then comes out of no where and attacks Bearer. Kane then shows up and attacks Abyss but Abyss fights back until Taker comes in and him and Kane beat Abyss to the parking lot. They then throw in into the windshield of a car and chokeslam him onto the top of it. Stephanie then runs out and screams “MY CAR!!! ABYSS!!! YOU’re PAYING FOR THAT!!!”
Back in the ring and CM Punk is out there with a microphone. HE says that at Judgment Day, he will win his first ever PPV match. HE said that this is the point in every superstars career where they look back on what brought them there. HE said that he’s been training ever since he got out of high school and that he promised his parents that if he didn’t make it in professional wrestling, he would go back to college. HE said that there was no need for that, however, as he was brought right into a little indy fed and taken right to the top. He said that just one month in, he was heavyweight champion…for 3 years. Then, he lost it. He thought he lost everything. But a man named Andy Stevens showed up after the show and told him that he liked what he saw, and that he should come try out for him. So, he did. HE went and tried out and got the contract. He said that he was warned that people on Nitro don’t like newbies, and that I should watch myself. Boy was that an understatement. His first night here, he was berated by Heyman and then next thing he knows, he’s fighting Sabu in an extreme rules match at Judgment Day. He said that he does however, have to thank Andy Stevens for giving him this opportunity. Rob Van Dam then comes out with a mic. HE is laughing and tells Punk that there are easier ways of kissing ass. He then said that tonight, how about making it RVD and Sabu taking on….CM Punk and…EDGE!! Punk smiles and agrees, saying he’ll show RVD who the REAL MITB owner should be. RVD looks puzzled. HE turns around and Edge hits him with a spear!! Punk then comes down and helps take RVD to the ring. They both beat him down until Sabu comes from the crowd and hits Punk with a chair. Sabu and RVD then go to the outside of the ring as Edge tends to Punk as we go to a commercial break.
We’re back and Edge has Sabu in a headlock in the middle of the ring. Sabu slowly fights up and picks up Edge but Edge lets go and hits a dropkick in the air! He tags in Punk and the crowd is wild!! HE goes at Sabu and beats him down with punches and kicks. He then hits a ddt and tags in Edge. They double team him in the corner and then Edge tags back in Punk. Punk jumps to the top rope, holds on, and comes down with a hard dropkick into the face of Sabu in the corner. He then pulls him to the middle of the ring. He turns around and Van Dam hits him with a vandaminator off the top with a chair. The ref calls for the DQ and Van Dam goes to hit Edge with it but gets hit with a spear instead. Edge then helps up Punk and they go to leave but Mike Awesome and Rhyno come into the ring. They attack Edge and then Punk. Edge then hits a double spear onto Awesome & Rhyno until Sabu attacks Edge. Edge hits a edgecator onto Sabu and escapes the ring as Van Dam goes after Punk. He goes to get back in the ring, but Awesome and Rhyno fend him off. Sabu & Van Dam then attack Punk and then they all four beat down Punk as Edge retreats to the back. The show ends with Van Dam hitting a 5star frog splash on Punk but Punk moving and Sabu trying for a legdrop at the same time but Punk has moved and he rolls out of the ring and he crawls to the back as RVD, Sabu, Mike Awesome, & Rhyno stand in the ring to end the show.
