After months of speculation, we can confirm that TNA has officially signed Japanese and Mexican women's wrestler Ayako Hamada to a contract. Hamada held press conference three months ago in Japan announcing she was leaving to sign for TNA. She will be heading to the United States later this week.
TNA’s Jeremy Borash confirmed the deal on Twitter; “After months of rumors, I can finally confirm Japanese female star Ayako Hamada has signed with TNA. Hearing she arrives in the US this wk.”
Ayako Hamada is a second generation wrestler, as her father is Japanese professional wrestler Gran Hamada. She has won several notable titles in Japanese women's pro wrestling, including both the WWWA World Heavyweight Championship and AAAW Singles Championship. Her older sister Xochitl Hamada is also a professional wrestler.
