Ring of Honor TV Report – April 12, 2014

Silas Young vs. RD Evans w/ Veda Scott

This was a very good match that had an excellent mixture of aerial and brawling action. Young added an aggressive element to this match that really helped accentuate the character differences between the two, as well as the difference in wrestling styles they have. This was a pretty darn good match that saw Evans win, once again.

Winner: RD Evans

MAIN EVENT: Tommaso Ciampa vs. Jay Lethal – 2 Out Of 3 Falls Match for the Ring of Honor World Television Championship

This was another massive hit between these two. It amazes me how much chemistry these two have with one another. I truly enjoyed watching this entire happening unfold and I was drawn in from beginning until the shocking end, which we’ll discuss below.

Winner: AND NEW Ring of Honor World Television Champion – Jay Lethal

News of the Night: This broadcast was culled from the Supercard of Honor show from a week or so ago.

The big shocker I alluded to was that Jay Lethal turned heel and joined Truth Martini, who had attacked former protégé Matt Taven, earlier in the night, to reform “The House of Truth”. I’m not sure if I agree with turning the natural face in Jay Lethal heel, but I suppose Jay’s talents could make it work.

Final Thoughts: This was a simple, yet gratifying card that added some intriguing elements to Ring of Honor for the rest of the year.
