Ring of Honor TV Report – April 5, 2014
Chris Hero vs. Roderick Strong
This was a fantastic contest that hearkened back to the glory days of Ring of Honor. There was so much energy and life in every bone-crunching move of this match. I can’t express how much I loved this match. I had a blast with this one and I think you will too.
Winner: Chris Hero
MAIN EVENT: reDRagon vs. The Young Bucks – Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championships Match
What can I say about this match that the above already says far better? It’s reDRagon vs The Young Bucks! For those who may have had any doubts of this match’s quality, let me say that this one truly delivered what it promised. This was more conservative than most of The Young Bucks bouts, as they are typically set at lightning speed. This was a mindful, yet action-packed affair that showed a different side of the world’s best high-flyers, while reaffirming the well-rounded skills of one of wrestling’s best tag teams. By the way, we have new champions!
Winners: AND THE NEW ROH World Tag Team Champions – The Young Bucks
News of the Night: The New Japan/Ring of Honor set of shows that are coming our way this spring was advertised. Both companies’ top stars will be working both shows, which should bode well for the quality.
Speaking of the respective companies’ rosters, it seems AJ Styles is going to call New Japan home, for now at least. He has replaced Prince Devitt as the leader of the Bullitt Club and is slated to challenge Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship in the near future. What this means for his placement in Ring of Honor remains a mystery, for now.
Final Thoughts: This was a great edition of ROH TV, as we had two dynamite bouts that showcased the best parts of Ring of Honor.
