Ring of Honor TV Report – May 3, 2014
Tommaso Ciampa vs. Roderick Strong w/ Adam Page
This was another excellent match between these two. The work was crisp and precise and really helped deliver a great opener. This is definitely a pairing they should make more often.
Winner: Tommaso Ciampa
Silas Young vs. The Romantic Touch
This was a fine encounter that was in place to make Young look stronger. TRT was very fluid throughout this affair, which kept the pace at a nice speed. The psychological aspect was fairly sound and left some room for creativity.
Winner: Silas Young
Jimmy Jacobs w/ Adam Page & TaDarius Thomas vs. Corey Hollis
This was another fine little match that gave Hollis a chance to show his abilities, while making Jacobs look like a credible threat to any competitor’s title. The action was moderately paced and had a mixture of aerial and chain. Overall, this was a fun little match.
Winner: Jimmy Jacobs
MAIN EVENT: Rocky Romero vs. Michael Elgin
This was certainly the night’s best effort. They meshed very well and put together an engaging match that capped off the night properly. I look forward to seeing if they work each other again, soon.
Winner: Michael Elgin
News of the Night: Cedric Alexander interfered in the Strong/Ciampa bout to help Ciampa win. This led to a challenge, by Cedric, for a singles match between the two at Global Wars, which was accepted.
TaDarius Thomas has joined “The Decade”. He will serve as an underling to the core three members of the group.
Final Thoughts: This was a good show that gave plenty of people a chance to shine. This show also continues the trend of growth from Ring of Honor, which is most visible, when one considers that Ring of Honor will make its triumphant return to the traditional PPV model.
