ROH/NJPW Global Wars Results – May 10, 2014

- Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling held their first of two supershows from the sold-out Ted Reeve Arena in Toronto, Canada tonight. Here are the results.

Pre-show: TD Thomas w/ Jimmy Jacobs def. The Romantic Touch

1) Michael Bennett w/ Maria Kanellis def. ACH. Bennett hit Maria Kanellis with a Spear off the apron by accident.

2) Michael Elgin def. Takkaki Wanatabe after a Buckle Bomb and Elgin Bomb combination. Elgin raised Wanatabe’s hand after the match.

3) The Briscoes def. The DECADE (Jimmy Jacobs & BJ Whitmer) and reDRagon (Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish) after Jay Briscoe pinned Jimmy Jacobs following the Doomsday Device.

4) Cedric Alexander def. Roderick Strong in what was one of the two matches of the night. Alexander won with a small package. After the match The DECADE attacked Alexander and Strong tossed him back first onto four upright steel chairs.

5) The Young Bucks def. Forever Hooligans (Rocky Romero & Alex Koslov) and Timesplitters (KUSHIDA & Alex Shelley) when Matt Jackson pinned Rocky Romero following More Bang For Your Buck, to retain the IWGP Jr. Tag Team Championships. The other match of the night, standing ovation following it. Alex Shelley was over huge with the crowd.

RD Evans and his personal referee Ramon came out and said that he had a special match with anyone of his choosing, he then asked ring announcer Bobby Cruise to reveal the opponent from a letter. Cruise read his own name, RD Evans quickly rolled him up and Ramon made the count to make Evans 105 – 0.

6) Hiroshi Tanahashi & Jushin Liger def. Jado & Shinsuke Nakamura when Tanahashi pinned Jado with Fly High Flow (Frog Splash).

9) Jay Lethal w/ Truth Martini def. Matt Taven, Silas Young and Tommaso Ciampa to retain the ROH World TV Championship when Lethal hit the Lethal Injection on Taven while he was distracted by Truth Martini.

8) AJ Styles & Karl Anderson def. Kazuchika Okada & Gedo when Styles hit Gedo with Prince Devitt’s Bloody Sunday finishing maneuver and the Styles Clash as Karl Anderson forced Okada to watch. Michael Elgin was on commentary and post-match Styles, Okada and Elgin had a staredown in the middle of the ring.

Main Event) Adam Cole def. Kevin Steen w/ Florida Key to retain the ROH World Championship.
