Internal ROH Reaction To WWE Article, #HonorCon Speculation, Briscoe Responds To Bennett (Video)

- Internally Ring of Honor officials were caught completely off guard by WWE.com’s article on their influence to the company. They were very pleased by it and feel it came at a great time, as the return of AJ Styles aired two days before the article went live on the site, and with them plugging the ROH website, when fans clicked on the link it brought them to a picture of Styles on the front page, someone they may recognize, bolstering the attention they were getting just that much more.

– Last week ROH revealed that on February 22, the day of their TV taping after the 12th Anniversary Show, they would hold the first ever HonorCon, where fans can interact with talent, purchase rare merchandise, have their photos taken with all ROH stars who attend, plus hear a “very special announcement” in-person.

Speculation on what the announcement is has been narrowed down to one of three things being either that they have came to a deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling to bring a talent or a number of talents into the company, that they will be returning to either live iPPV or venturing into live PPV, or that AJ Styles will feature at Supercard of Honor which takes place in New Orleans, during WrestleMania Weekend.

– Mark Briscoe has responded to Michael Bennett ahead of their match later today at ROH State of the Art, from The Shrine Auditorium, San Antonio, Texas:

  • James Humwood

What is wwe’s other motive here cuz I know for damn sure there not helping another company out the goodness Of there hearts lol

    • Mordecai

I get the impression that if Joey Styles stays 95% kayfabe and keeps the Cena merch front and center on the site, he can occasionally get away with posting articles like this.
