– Former NWA Champion Adam Pearce is backstage at the TNA Impact Wrestling taping in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Sources say that he will be competing in the TNA Gutcheck tonight.

– Japanese female wrestler Ayuma Kurihara has announced her retirement from professional wrestling. She competed in the US for both SHIMMER and Ring of Honor and in Mexico for CMLL, where she was the women’s champion. She is only 28, but is retiring due to nagging injuries, including a collarbone injury she suffered in 2007. Her final match will take place on August 4 at Korakuen Hall. SHIMMER announced that Kurihara will fight Mercedes Martinez at SHIMMER 53 at WrestleCon, which will be Kurihara’s final SHIMMER appearance.
