I talk to security at wwe corp. office, he told me that no signs were be taken and that no one was being kicked out for chanting cm punk. so who can you believe

    • Dime

Yes, I am sorry to say… signs were being taken from Raw. My Brothers sign was taken, and all it said was Best In The World! Any sign that had to do with Punk was removed from fans. And ones who made signs while there were removed from the arena. But no they were not removed for chanting for him.

      • BryaN

Yeah, your evidence is way better than his and not the same at all!

        • Guest

This isn’t the first time fans have had signs taken away. They do it all the time at all events depending on the situation.

  • Tony Esposito

when they start talking hit 0 on your phone then ask for security

    • Dime

Hey, I am not saying they did not tell you that. I am sure they did. Why would they admit to something that would make them look bad. I am just telling you. As my brother and a few of his friends went to Raw. His sign was removed from him. And he watched as others were removed also. He also said and so did his friends with him, that people who made signs after entering and were caught were removed by security. Just passing it along as he was there and seen it first hand.

      • Tony Esposito

well some one should of got that on tape, great law suit

        • Dime

Agreed. I know the WWE and Vince are in an uproar right now over CM Punk. But it’s not like we the fans don’t know what is going on. And taking away signs is honestly just BS. If it is not something harsh, or foul. They just should not have the right to touch it. That is messing with the first amendment. Taking away peoples rights. Rich or not, he should not have the power to do something like that.

          • Tony Esposito

this is my petition protecting the fans rights
go to the site and read it

just started a petition on the White House petitions site, We the
People. Will you sign it? http://wh.gov/lRPvm

          • Tony Esposito

just started a petition on the White House petitions site, We the
People. Will you sign it? http://wh.gov/lRPvm

          • kthanxyousuck

Who says you have a right to bring a sign inside of a venue? Technically WWE is the only sporting event that allows fans to do that. So technically they could solve that problem by banning all signs at all events. Nothing says they have to allow them.

It’s not a right, it’s technically a privilege so legally, fans don’t have a leg to stand on.

    • Dave

They would connect you to security for the corporate headquarters building. Not event security.

      • Tony Esposito

no it was the head of the event security, who handles all events through out the usa

        • kthanxyousuck

You know that person doesn’t go to the actual shows right?

  • Tony Esposito

like I said can you really believe the wwe

  • John Knopick

    Rollins is from here??

    • Trenton Langloss

I believe he’s from Dubuque or Davenport something like that. I know he’s from Iowa.

  • Tony Esposito

what someone needs to do is get it on tape from their phone and then post it, great evidence for a law suit

    • kthanxyousuck

They take signs all the time for different reasons. You can’t sue for them taking away a sign.

      • Tony Esposito

yes you can, it falls under freedom of expression

        • Empress Sudol

          No. It doesn’t.

“Free Expression” says the government can’t do anything to you.

          WWE is not the government.

        • kthanxyousuck

WWE doesn’t employ fans. It’s their show and they’re allowed to do anything they want at THEIR shows. Fans are attending a show, they don’t have any rights to obstruct that show.

If you go to a movie theatre and you disrupt the movie, what happens? You get thrown out. Regardless if you paid.

          • Tony Esposito

so why is my petition the only one that hasn’t been taken down,

          • kthanxyousuck

Because they don’t know or care about it more likely. You know how many petitions WWE has out against them? There are petitions for everything. They don’t care.

  • Tony Esposito

just started a petition on the White House petitions site, We the
People. Will you sign it? http://wh.gov/lRPvm

    • Luke

Please stop talking. You’re embarrassing yourself. WWE is a business and has a right to conduct that business as they see fit. That includes the confiscation of signs. This is not an infringement on your right to freedom of expression as WWE is not a government and therefore is under no obligation to accommodate any signs if they don’t want to. You want to start a petition with the White House, that’s great. But do it for something that actually matters.

  • Tony Esposito

sunday I started this petition that the wwe violates the wwe fans constitutional rights for freedom of speech and freedom of expression. im against the wwe

    • Neilinho

Private company in a private arena. Freedom of speech and expression don’t apply.

That said, I also don’t like fan signs being taken if they’re harmless.

      • kthanxyousuck

What you consider harmless and what they consider harmless are two totally different things. So that’s pretty subjective. Technically a company has the right to protect themselves if it will wreck their image.

For example, if someone takes a Benoit sign to an event, you would probably expect them to take it away. But if they take a TNA sign, that’s essentially harmless, but business wise it’s not because it’s their competition.

        • Tony Esposito

im a retired politician from south Philadelphia, during my 14 years I seen more lawsuits from phila sports fans, now remember phila fans are the worse fans in the country. so with that what the wwe is doing falls under those rights,

          • kthanxyousuck

WWE is a private company. They’re not a public sports association and they don’t own an arena. They rent out arenas for that space and time and can do what they want to control the crowd as long as it isn’t criminal like tasing or macing. They’re allowed to toss people out if they feel that they are causing a disruption to the show and other fans.

Technically, there is nothing on a WWE ticket that says they have to allow signs. Are signs allowed at other sports events? WWE allows signs at their own discretion and it’s technically not a right. It’s a fan tradition but it’s not a right. You’re telling people to record instances on their phone but technically THAT’S against WWE rules because it says clearly on the ticket, no video camera during the show. Yet people still record things that happen at the show.

      • Tony Esposito

wrong, its the same thing as a employer telling their employees they cant have signs while protesting. also the guy from wwe I talked to today also told me that they are not taking signs or throwing people out because that would violate their rights as fans

        • kthanxyousuck

LOL and you believe someone in corporate, who is never at ANY of the live events knows what they’re talking about? That’s the general statement they all have to say.

An employer telling employee is different from fans. Fans don’t work for WWE, they essentially don’t have any real legal rights. They buy a ticket, sure but the WWE has a right to remove people for what they call, problematic behavior. Just like if a fan gets too drunk at an event, they can be removed. Buying a ticket doesn’t give you the power to do what you like.

          • Tony Esposito

it gives you the right to freedom of speech as long as it is not offensive and as long as the signs aren’t offensive and as fans they have more rights then you think

          • kthanxyousuck

Who gives them the right to bring in signs? WWE does. Are signs allowed at other sporting events? Is there a law which says wrestling fans are entitled to carry in signs? Can you take a sign to a MMA show or baseball game and hold it up possibly obstructing the view of the people behind you who paid good money for their seats? No you can’t. A sign is something that WWE is allowing at their own discretion and they can take away that PRIVILEGE whenever they want.

      • Brandon Smith

actually it depends on the arena like if they was in jacksonville florida them are public owned arenas much like majority of arenas they use.

  • Stoney53

all I know is that I was at WWE live in Orlando, FL. They did check signs on the way in, and were looking for vulgar and obscene signs. The girl sitting a row in front of me had a sign that said, “WWE Stock since punk left,” and showed a graph with a red line ascending up, and then a straight line down on the supposed day he left, and she flashed it the entire time. The sign was never confiscated nor was she approached by anyone.
There were also about 4 or 5 other signs that I saw in the arena that were CM Punk related that were flashed all night. Now, they could have gotten lucky at the gate or made the sign inside. I don’t know. I can’t speculate and won’t. I can only tell you what I witnessed and that was security and WWE officials not confiscating CM Punk signs. This could be different as it wasn’t a live broadcast, but there is definitely two sides to this story, and there is no way to know what is really going on until WWE makes an official statement, and Punk finally surfaces and makes one of his own.

    • Tony Esposito

I fully agree, if anyone sees signs being taken take photos and post them

      • kthanxyousuck

I get this odd suspicion you’ve never been to an actual show.

    • kthanxyousuck

You were at a live event. They’re not going to take signs from a show that isn’t televised because it doesn’t make them look bad. No one can publicly see them.

WWE takes signs all the time. They’ve been doing it for years for multiple reasons. So it’s not like this is something that just started. You think they’d let in someone with a sign that said TNA?

      • Stoney53

as I stated above, “this could be different as it wasn’t a live broadcast.” I only stated what I saw, and did not speculate or claimed others were wrong or lying.

        • kthanxyousuck

Thanks for the insight though because it does make it seem like it’s only at live events. Fan signs were taken at NXT tapings as well. I also know CM Punk chants were at the Miami houseshow and no one got tossed.

And I agree that WWE could lessen a lot of this hostility by just making a statement, even if it’s just to say Punk isn’t going to be at events indefnitinetely, instead of pretending like fans don’t know.

  • Tony Esposito

my petition is the only petition for cm punk that hasn’t been taken down because the petition is for the fans rights

  • bigtime

Its entertainment and you nitwits want to sign petitions and lawsuits ? What is with you all ,you don’t like it don’t go. You should be as concerned with Obama care and take action against them 2 morons,Obama the pothead, and biden the career bum kissing buffoon.

    • Brandon Smith

funny thing people said and claimed the same stuff about medicare when it came out that their saying about the affordable care act and medicare is now the most popular goverment service.

  • James Humwood

first off tony no one will sign your petition because petitions are dumb and never work. anyways now to get on track I was impressed they did one of my dream matches cesaro vs bryan and I tell you what it was amazing now only if wwe would push these guys over cena, orton, and batista… also the sheamus and ryback one I didn’t see but if it was good then im shocked lol anything with ryback in it usually has botch written aww over it :D
