Stipulation For Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton At WWE Battleground?, Plans For Ricardo Rodriguez

– Stipulations are expected to be added to Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton and Rob Van Dam vs. Alberto Del Rio at WWE’s Battleground pay-per-view. There’s talk of Bryan vs. Orton being an Iron Man match. That would allow WWE to do another indecisive finish, leading to Hell In a Cell where there could be a definitive winner once and for all.

– Ricardo Rodriguez is currently scheduled to be with Rob Van Dam until RVD takes time off in October. After that, Ricardo may be put with Rey Mysterio as his personal ring announcer.

An Iron Man would be incredible! Give Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton 60 minutes and they will blow the roof off in Buffalo! I am really hoping this to be true.

I’m with you. I like the idea of an iron man match leading to an indecisive, perhaps a draw with Triple H refusing to do a sudden death or with Orton winning on a DQ and ending it in a Hell in a Cell with DBry winning.

I see Bryans chase continuing until someone comes in to nullify Triple H’s power. I don’t know who, or how. Board of Directors could always step in as the deus ex machina, and put someone in the role to balance out Triple H. But as it stands, I don’t see Trips tolerating Bryan’s reign for even a day, its “bad for business.” Granted, he could go the McMahon/Austin route and just send challengers against Champion Bryan with odds stacked against him, but I don’t think Trips would have the patience to tolerate Bryan with the strap. He would likely set up another conspiracy, maybe fake Bryan infringing the wellness policy (haha) and strip him again. But we won’t see Bryan with the belt until Trips power has been checked by another authority.

Having said that, an iron man match would be epic, if not a little too soon. I see it a tier above a Hell in a Cell for ending a feud, in fact. I was really hoping they’d go with a tournament, that’d be perfect for Survivor Series (like Deadly Games) but thats a long time with no WWE Champion.

I don’t think Rey needs Ricardo. I don’t even think RVD needs him, but Reys always been a man who stands on his own, even when he had a tag partner. Not to mention its a little stale, Ricardo back with a spanish Superstar. Of course, I’ve always liked Del Rio/Mysterio.

I’d like to see Ricardo debut his El Locale gimmick, just for comedy. Perhaps “trained” (in storyline) by Rey.

As much as I’d love to see an Iron Man match… does anyone else see the issue with watching a 60 minute match that DOESN’T have a definitive finish? It kinda makes the Iron Man match pointless. Plus, if they do something where it’s a tie after 60 minutes, why wouldnt they just go to Sudden Death like Bret/HBK did?

    • Joe D’Agostino

If the 60 minutes is quality wrestling and a great match then I have no issue with it whatsoever. CM Punk and John Cena put on a classic match at Night of Champions last year and despite it ending in a tie it was still an instant classic. The 60 minute Iron Man Match is always a treat to the wrestling fan and the result of the match only affects storyline. Therefore it is not an issue with me.

60 mins would be way too much time to see super boring.
