Death of Wrestling: I’m Not The Weak Link

Greetings to all… It’s David Davis with my weekly blog: Death of Wrestling. For all of those who read this regularly, you will know that this is not a blog about bashing wrestling; it’s a blog of a frustrated fan, who loves the business and wishes that each week it could be a little better. Last week’s blog was all about the arrival of Curtis Axel and the refusal/shortsightedness of the WWE to let him get over properly. But this week I actually want to praise the WWE for lettingRead More

Death of Wrestling: Let A Man Get Over…

Greetings to all… It’s David Davis with my weekly blog: Death of Wrestling. For all of those who read this regularly, you will know that this is not a blog about bashing wrestling; it’s a blog of a frustrated fan, who loves the business and wishes that each week it could be a little better. It was a good week for wrestling, what with Extreme Rules etc and there’s a lot that I could talk about, but for me there was only one thing that really stuck out: Curtis Axel.Read More

Death of Wrestling: Park, Park & Park

Greetings to all… It’s David Davis with my weekly blog: Death of Wrestling. For all of those who read this regularly, you will know that this is not a blog about bashing wrestling; it’s a blog of a frustrated fan, who loves the business and wishes that each week it could be a little better. The one thing that unites all wrestling fans is amazing matches and, by and large, it doesn’t really matter who has them. FATP: 5 Bold Predictions for 2013

It’s time for the latest FATP with yours truly. Welcome along for the ride! It’s gonna be chock-full of my usual brand of ranting and raving, with maybe a sprinkling of positivity. Maybe. It feels pretty strange to be sitting down and writing a blog. I’ve not done any writing for about 2/3 weeks. The FATP Awards and WWE Year in Review were written WELL before Xmas and to be honest, I was a little bit sick of wrestling at that point. I’ve only really watched Impact and Raw fromRead More

Death of Wrestling: Good VS Evil

Greetings to all… It’s David Davis with my weekly blog: Death of Wrestling. For all of those who read this regularly, you will know that this is not a blog about bashing wrestling; it’s a blog of a frustrated fan, who loves the business and wishes that each week it could be a little better. What’s really good, people? My thought this week is on a form of storytelling so ancient it’s what the bible is based on: the age old story of GOOD vs. EVIL. It doesn’t matter ifRead More

FATP: 10 Most Entertaining Current WWE Stars

It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time to welcome you all to the latest edition of From Across the Pond. Let’s get the elephant in the room out of the way right now. I mentioned this briefly in the PPV recap I wrote for wrestlingrambles.com on Sunday night/Monday morning, but watching Raw last week was just eerie. I’d been watching on delay because of Andy Murray’s US Open triumph (by the way @helenrobinson82, we’ve still to settle that bet!) and when Twitter blew up with the news that Jerry Lawler hadRead More

ThunderStruck: Raw 1006 Analysis

CM Punk attacks Jerry Lawler backstage before Raw starts and thus Michael Cole is alone on commentary for Raw tonight in Chicago! ^I like the idea of using a storyline to try a new announce team for Raw. Putting Lawler in the role of an agent or backstage help would be much better than listening to him on commentary every week. Something tells me his rivalry with Punk will continue for at least a few more weeks. Sheamus comes out first tonight. Sheamus says the party will end soon forRead More

The official WWE website features a new storyline article up on Josh Mathews, after he was attacked by Kane again on Friday night’s SmackDown.
