FATP:- Taking the venom out of The Viper

Welcome to this week’s edition of “From Across the Pond” with yours truly. Hopefully your week’s been good! We’re coming off a decent, but not great, No Way Out PPV, which was pretty predictable for the most part. If you’ve not seen the show, I’d recommend checking out the three male singles title matches. They were the best on the show and worth the purchase price alone. The rest was filler that wouldn’t look out of place at a TV taping. This week, I wanted to talk about the possibilityRead More

Rory McAllister, who appeared for WWE from 2006 to 2008 as a member of The Highlanders, feels today’s crop of Divas don’t compare to the extraordinary bombshells of days gone by. Though attractive in their own right, he categorizes today’s female talent as ‘girls,’ rather than ‘Divas,’ and lacking special, indefinable attributes. “WWE has some pretty girls working there but what happened to having Divas!? Trish, Candace, Torrie. WOMEN of hotness!” McAllister voiced on Twitter Thursday. He then makes a daring comparison. “I can see pretty much most of today’sRead More
- Vince McMahon took another stab at Jim Ross in a backstage segment on Monday’s Raw SuperShow, which saw the WWE Chairman make a horribly contorted face ridiculing the Hall of Fame broadcaster’s affliction with Bell’s palsy. Ross suffers from the condition, which sometimes results in temporary paralysis of his facial muscles. NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood producer Joe Franciosi, who worked as a creative writer for WWE in 2010, said he discovered why Ross is often ridiculed by company brass after encountering the legendary broadcaster. “I sat through tonsRead More

Backstage News On Christian Appearing At TNA Slammiversary

As noted before, Christian’s appearance at TNA Slammiversary was indeed part of WWE and TNA’s deal put together a few months back that allowed Ric Flair to appear at the Hall of Fame. WWE very carefully controlled what Christian was and was not allowed to say at the pay-per-view. Christian got along well with everyone there but did not want to be there. He told people it was surreal to be there and he expected no heat from within WWE. When WWE and TNA were putting the deal together, ChristianRead More

ThunderStruck: TNA Slammiversary 2012 Reaction

Hulk Hogan opened the show and welcomed everyone to the event. He announced that Austin Aries would in fact be defending the X-Division Championship against Samoa Joe. Aries defeated Joe in the opening match with a modified brainbuster(modified because of Joe’s weight on Arie’s back). ^Who cares about Joe’s weight? Hogan and TNA made the right call by allowing this match to be for the title. When Joe is competing at the top of his game, the X-Division is where Joe shines the most. As Good As You Think?

Hello there folks! Dave Scott checking in for some Monday night banter. The last few weeks I have not actually been able to watch Raw due to either problems with my Sky or my internet, which have been making it difficult to keep up to date with it all. Regardless I did manage to catch Smackdown this week and Slammiversary last night. So I’m kind of limited to what I can talk about, so I’ll go with the TNA option this week. Slammiversary was an overall very good show. ThisRead More
