The Two Sheds Review: WWE NXT Takeover Fatal 4 Way

When I first saw one of their shows a few months ago the action blew me away. But did they manage to capture lightning in a bottle again? That was what I was hoping to find out by watching WWE NXT Takeover: Fatal 4 Way, shown this past Saturday night on Sky Sports here in Britain. The show began with the title action as the Lucha Dragons, Kalisto and Sin Cara, challenged Konnor and Viktor of the Ascension for the NXT Tag Team titles. Short and sweet would probably beRead More

The Two Sheds Review: WWE NXT Takeover

It’s debut time here in The Two Sheds Review…..sort of, as we take a first look at what WWE’s NXT has to offer with a review of Takeover, shown this past Sunday night on Sky Sports here in Britain. The broadcast began with Adam Rose taking on Camacho. This is the first time I’ve seen Mr. Rose and his entrance, and I’m of the opinion that he’s probably an acquired taste. The match itself wasn’t too bad. Rose frustrated Camacho early on with his carefree attitude, until the Mexican managedRead More
As PWMania.com reported last week, the plan for Tyson Kidd was to repackage him under a masked gimmick. The company has already ordered a Lucha Libre style mask for him but it looks like those plans may have changed since last week’s NXT Takeover. At NXT Takeover the plans seemed to indicate that they were doing something else with him, possibly an angle about how his losses are causing stress with his marriage. This may tie in with the upcoming season of Total Divas. Kidd did not say anything inRead More

WWE Star Injured; Out Of Action For Possibly A Year

WWE star Tyson Kidd (TJ Wilson), who was dubbed a “workhorse” by CM Punk on his promo this past Monday, will be out of action 10-12 months. Details are still slim on exactly when injury had occurred, but Kidd suffered a fractured knee and a torn ACL over the holiday house show loop. Kidd’s team with Justin Gabriel had regularly been one of the best parts of WWE’s secondary TV programming like Superstars, so this is a real blow to those shows.Read More

Around 9 p.m. ET Monday night, I started penning this very edition of The Commentary. It was to focus on CM Punk’s impact off the bat at the show’s start, interrupting the legendary Bret Hart in Montreal and entering to boos. It was to focus on the excellent usage of Paul Heyman, who even with doing little, added so much more depth to Punk’s heel persona. Hell, it was even to discuss how unwarranted Alicia Fox’s sudden heel turn was, and how frustrated I am with the lack of directionRead More

ThunderStruck: NXT Analysis 08/22/12

Antonio Cesaro defeats Derrick Bateman using the neutralizer. ^I doubt we’ll see as much of Cesaro on the show tapings now that he’s won the United States Title. Cesaro and Bateman put on a decent matchup here. Bateman is still nothing special to me in terms of his character, but I would say WWE is more to blame than anybody for that. How can you convince the fans that you want someone to succeed when you market no gimmick for him AND he’ been competing for more than two years?Read More
Hello all, Geddy Cahoon here once again with another edition of The Cahoon Run Down. For the second week in a row, I actually had a pretty good idea of what to write about for my article. Last week it was CM Punk, this week it’s two WWE TV personalities who have been a thorn in my proverbial side for a very long time: AJ Lee and Jerry Lawler. There’s not much else to say here, other than that I may get unapologetically enraged over the course of this article,Read More
- Nobody within WWE expects Triple H to really be retiring from in-ring competition. The feeling is that Triple H still has many matches left. He’s expected to go away for a few months and then come back for a rematch against Brock Lesnar, possibly at Survivor Series. – Following the SummerSlam loss, Dolph Ziggler continues to Tout about wanting a rematch against Chris Jericho. - It would appear that WWE has parted ways with developmental wrestler DT Porter as he is no longer listed on the roster page of FCWWrestling.info. He rarely appeared on Florida Championship Wrestling cards after joining the developmental promotion last year. In May, Porter, whose real name is Brian McGhee, posted a message on Facebook crying for help due to alleged mistreatment from camp officials. He then claimed that his account was hacked. The “help” statement read: “Guys, I don’t know how much longer I can handle this. Every dayRead More
