TMZ Picks Up On Abraham Washington’s Kobe Bryant Rape Reference On Raw

TMZ picked up on the Kobe Bryant rape reference Abraham Washington made on Monday’s WWE Raw. The TMZ article quotes what A.W said on Raw, “like Kobe Bryant at a hotel room in Colorado … he’s unstoppable.”

A WWE representative told TMZ, “A.W. made an inappropriate comment and WWE immediately apologized.” The rep added, “WWE has taken appropriate action in the matter.”

“A.W. “felt horrible” after he made the comment and claimed he simply “got caught up in the moment” … and realizes the comment could be hurtful to rape victims and their families,” sources told TMZ.

A.W. immediately apologized to WWE bosses, including the McMahon family, and several wrestlers and also vowed to refrain from making similar comments in the future, according to TMZ.

The comment A.W. made on Raw was a reference to Kobe’s 2003 sexual assault case when he was accused of raping a woman in his hotel room in Eagle, Colorado. The accuser eventually reached a settlement with Kobe and dropped her case.
