TNA Impact Wrestling – April 3, 2014

Impact begins with Bobby Roode and Ethan Carter III waiting in the ring for tag-team action. Bully Ray’s music hits and he heads to the ring. Willow follows and will team with Ray.

Bobby Roode and Ethan Carter III vs. Bully Ray and Willow (Table Match)

Willow and Ray hit the ring to start the match and attack Carter and Roode. Willow hits Poetry in Motion off of Ray. The two beat down Roode and he ends up out of the ring. Ray and Willow hit the Wassup double team. Ray tells Willow to get the tables. Willow grabs a table and puts it in the ring. They set up the table, but EC3 and Roode ground them both. EC3 and Roode double team Willow, but Ray jumps them. EC3 hits Ray with a forearm. EC3 and Roode reposition the table. They go for a double suplex through the table, but Willow moves it. Willow takes down Roode, but runs into an EC3 clothesline. EC3 picks up Willow and slams his face into the mat. Willow comes back with a jawbreaker and then hits a splash and dropkick on EC3 in the corner. Willow hits the Twist of Fate on EC3. Willow repostions the table closer to a corner. Willow puts EC3 on he table. Rockstar Spud, in a wheelchair, heads dow the ramp. Willow sees him and gets out of the ring. He dropkicks Spud in the wheelchair. Willow picks him up and takes him out of the arena. Ray climbs to the top rope. EC3 gets off the table and Roode pushes Ray off the top rope. Ray goes over the table. They go for a double team, but Ray ends up throwing Roode into EC3 from the top rope. Ray hits a double clothesline. Ray cleans house. Ray goes for a powerbomb on EC3, but Roode breaks it up. Ray gets out of the Roodebomb attempt, but Roode hits a spinebuster on Ray, through the table for the win.

Winners: Bobby Roode and Ethan Carter III

After the match, Roode and EC3 set up another table. Roode grabs Ray and puts him through the table with the Roodebomb. EC3 leaves the ring with Ray down in the remnants of the table. Roode yells at EC3 for one more table. They get another and set it up near the corner of the ring. EC3 picks up Ray, while Roode punches him. They put Ray on the table and Roode climbs to the top rope. Roode hits a huge frog splash on Ray through the table. Roode yells at Ray on the ground.

Backstage, Kenny King arrives. He asks a backstage guy what they have for him tonight. The man tells him that he doesn’t see him scheduled for anything tonight. King goes to look for MVP. Mr. Anderson is set for action next. We head to commercial.

Back from break. Magnus is asked backstage where Abyss is. He tells them that they are on the same page and that’s all that matters. MVP starts tell us what we’ll see on Impact tonight. He’s interrupted by Kenny King and we head back to the arena. Mr. Anderson’s music hits and he heads to the ring to take on Samuel Shaw. Anderson grabs a mic and introduces himself. Anderson introduces the strait jacket that will be used in the match. Shaw’s music hits and he walks onto the stage. Shaw says that he is not creepy. He asks Anderson if he knows how precious his hands are. He says that he uses them to create art. He tells Anderson that he uses his for nothing and is ordinary. He says that the worst crime in society is to be ordinary. He says that Christy Hemme loves him.

Mr. Anderson vs. Samuel Shaw (Strait Jacket Match)

Anderson attacks Shaw on the apron and he falls to the floor. Anderson tries to put the jacket on Shaw, but Shaw fights back. Anderson tosses him into the ring steps. Shaw counters and takes Anderson down. We head to commercial.

Back from commercial and Shaw takes down Anderson with the jacket. Shaw chokes Anderson. Shaw tries to put the jacket on Anderson. He gets Anderson’s arms in the jacket but Anderson fights back. Anderson hits Shaw with a series of moves while wearing the jacket. Anderson hits the rolling senton. He removes the jacket and goes to Shaw. He puts Shaw’s arms in the jacket, but Shaw hits him with a low blow. Shaw locks in a choke on Anderson in the middle of the ring. Shaw chokes Anderson out. Shaw gets up and starts to put the jacket on Anderson. He gets both arms in, but Anderson fights back. Shaw locks the choke back in. Anderson goes out and Shaw goes back to the jacket. Shaw rolls Anderson over and cinches up the the back belt. He goes to the other belts and cinches them for the win.

Winner: Samuel Shaw

Backstage, The Beautiful people say that they will rewrite history. Velvet Sky says that Rayne is trying to outshine the two stars that made her. She says that they’re going to school her tonight, no matter who her parter is (Madison Rayne picks her tag-team partner tonight to face the Beautiful People). We head to break.

Back from break where we see Eric Young from an interview earlier today. He says that he needs to deal with Abyss because he started the problem. He says that he’s going to prove to everyone tonight why he has a spot in the TNA World Heavyweight Championship match. Back to the ring where Tigre Uno heads to the ring. Sanada makes his entrance. This will be the first of a best of three series for the X Division Championship. Kenny King comes out and interrupts the beginning of the match. He introduces himself and says that he is the X Division. He says that the X Division isn’t the same without him. King brags and MVP’s music hits. MVP heads to the ring with a mic. MVP tells King that he’s acting crazy by interrupting his show. King says that even with MVP in the ring, he’s still the biggest star standing in the ring. MVP asks him to come back to his office to talk about it. King refuses and tells him that he should be main eventing and headlining Impact. MVP says that the card is booked up. King asks MVP what he’s doing tonight. King tells MVP that they should have a match tonight on Impact so he can show him what he can do. MVP refuses. King says that he’s going to take a bow for his fans. He does and bumps MVP. MVP turns and King offers a match again. MVP agrees and King leaves the ring. Up next, Sanada and Tigre Uno will have their match. We head to break.

Back from commercial, where Sanada and Tigre Uno begin their match.

Tigre Uno vs. Sanada (c) First Match of the best of three series for the X Division Championship

Uno takes down Sanada. Uno hits a kick and then another in the corner. Uno goes for a dive, but stops when Sanada moves on the outside. Sanada gets in the ring, but Uno cuts him off and puts him in a hold. Sanada fights out of it and hits Uno with a pair of elbows. Sanada grounds Uno after coming off the top rope. Sanada hits a backdrop and then a kick to the back. Uno misses a dive in the corner and Sanada goes to the rolling cradles on Uno. Uno rolls out of the ring. Sanada goes to hit the ropes for a dive, but Uno jumps in and grounds him. Uno comes off the top rope but Sanada hits a drop kick. Sanada climbs to the top, but Uno crothes him. Uno goes for a split-leg moonsault, but Sanada puts the knees up. Sanada hits a double hook german suplex for a pin and a three-count.

Winner: Sanada

Backstage, someone asks Magnus where Abyss is. Magnus says that there’s a good reason why we haven’t seen Abyss and we’re going to find out next. Magnus says that he’s about to show Abyss in a way that no one has ever seen before. We head to break.

Back from break, Britney tells Rayne that she looks up to her. Britney asks if she can be Rayne’s tag partner. Rayne says no because she doesn’t want her to have to deal with The Beautiful People. Britney says she can handle it. Rayne says ok and they start to talk strategy.

Back to the ring, where Magnus heads to the ring. Magnus says that he’s got something to share with everyone. He tells Abyss to come down to the ring. Abyss’ music hits and he heads to the ring wearing his mask along with a suit and tie. He seems uncomfortable in the attire. Magnus tells Abyss that this is how the upper-echelon dress. Magnus says that he invited him out to talk strategy about their four-way match tonight. Magnus says that everyone thinks it’s really a four-way match, though he believes that they’re a team and that Abyss will not fight him to take the belt. He tells Abyss that he treats him like a person. Magnus brings up James Mitchell and Eric Young and how they treated Abyss. Magnus says that sometimes it’s hard for him to express himself at times. He says that he’s going to tell Abyss something that he’s longed to hear his whole life. Magnus tells Abyss that he loves him. Magnus hugs Abyss, while Abyss does nothing. Magnus exits the ring with Abyss right behind him. Eric Young jumps Abyss on the ramp. Magnus comes back and cuts off Young. Abyss and Magnus throw Young into the ring and beat him down. Samoa Joe hits the ring and cleans house. Abyss and Magnus retreat. Joe and Young stand in the ring. Young stares at him and says to stay out of his business. Young leaves the ring. Up next is the Beautiful People taking on Britney and Madison Rayne. We head to break.

Backstage, The Wolves talk with MVP about their Tag-Team title match tonight. Robbie E. shows up with a trainer and says that Jessie got hurt and can’t wrestle, so there will be no title match tonight. MVP and Robbie argue. Robbie leaves. MVP says that the excuse is legitimate and that he has to get ready for his match with Kenny King. The Wolves are angry and leave.

We see another video package featuring Knux. The Beautiful People’s music hits and they head to the ring. Madison Rayne and Britney head to the ring next.

The Beautiful People vs. Madison Rayne and Britney

Angelina Love starts with Britney. Love hits Britney, but Britney fights back and shoulder blocks Love to the ground and hits a series of moves. Love tags Sky in and Britney goes to the front facelock. Love pulls Britney down in the corner. Love and Sky hit a double team. Love comes back in and beats down Britney. Sky holds Britney and Love kicks her. Sky comes in and keeps control on Britney. Britney ends up countering with a russian leg-sweep. Britney tags in Rayne who hits clotheslines on Love. She goes for a cover and Sky makes the save. Britney tags herself in and gets ran over by Sky. Sky takes out Rayne. The Beautiful People hit the Makeover and Love gets the three-count on Britney.

Winners: The Beautiful People

Up next is Kenny King taking on MVP. We head to commercial.

Back from commercial. Kenny King’s music hits and he heads to the ring. MVP makes his entrance.

Kenny King vs. MVP

They start the match by shaking hands. MVP goes to an armbar, standing. King ends up flipping to an escape. King shows off for the crowd. King goes to the armbar. MVP escapes and grabs an armbar. MVP goes to a hammerlocl and King escapes. King goes to the ropes and MVP rolls him into an STF. MVP lets him go. They lock up and King goes to a headlock with a takeover and kick-up. They lock fingers and MVP gets a headlock takeover. King counters with the head scissors. MVP counters into a front facelock. They get up and MVP slams King twice in a waistlock. King elbows MVP in the face and then they break out into a fight. They roll on the ground punching each other. The ref calls for the bell.

No Contest

Referees pull them apart, but King ends up blasting MVP in the ring. King runs away and leaves the arena.

Backstage, Magnus approaches EC3. Magnus tells him that he’s coming into his own. EC3 asks what he wants, since he’s talking to him. Magnus says that yes, their business relationship ended last week, but their friendship hasn’t. Magnus asks if EC3 has his back tonight. EC3 is apprehensive. EC3 says that he has Abyss, so why should he need his help. EC3 tells Magnus that he must be afraid that Abyss could take the title tonight. EC3 says that he hears that the monitor will be a sellout tonight and says good luck. Backstage, King says that he had to show MVP what he can do. MVP comes out of nowhere and attacks King. They’re separated by the Wolves. The Wolves ask him what he’s doing since he told them to control their aggression. We head to break.

Back from break and Samoa Joe makes his entrance. Eric Young then makes his. Abyss is third out to the ring. TNA Champion, Magnus comes out last.

Magnus (c) vs. Samoa Joe vs. Eric Young vs. Abyss (TNA World Heavyweight Championship Fatal Four-Way Match)

Abyss attacks EY and Magnus goes after Joe. Joe hits an atomic drop and a back splash on Magnus. Magnus rolls out and Joe follows. In The ring, Young dropkicks Abyss out of the ring. Young hits a suicide dive onto the other three competitors. Young throws Magnus in the ring and hits a crossbody off the top rope. Abyss accidentally hits Magnus in the corner. Joe gets into the ring and stares at Young. Abyss and Magnus jump the two and take them down. We head to commercial break.

Back from commercial where Magnus and Abyss have control on Young in the ring. Joe on the outside. Magnus tells Abyss to keep Joe busy. He goes out and Joe fights him. Young is hit with a huge clothesline by Magnus. Magnus goes for the cover and only gets two. Abyss keeps control on Joe on the outside. Young fights out of a hold but Magnus grounds him with a high knee. Young fights off Magnus again, but Magnus hits him with an elbow. Joe fights off Abyss on the outside. Magnus gets another two-count in the ring. Abyss back in control of Joe. Abyss comes into the ring. Abyss starts to beat down Young. Magnus puts Young up onto the top turnbuckle. He tells Abyss to step away. He goes up for the superplex, but Young fights them off and hits a double dropkick. Young fights them both off. Magnus ends up tossing Young out of the ring. Joe comes into the ring and cleans house. Joe kicks Abyss in the head. Magnus is hit with a snapslam from Joe. Young comes in and breaks up the pin. Joe hits Young with a snapslam. Joe then hits Abyss with a snapslam. Joe goes for the rear naked choke on Magnus. Magnus grabs the ref and hits a low blow out of sight on Joe. Magnus tosses Joe to Abyss for the Black Hole Slam. Magnus fights Joe on the outside. Abyss goes for the chokeslam on Young, but he bites him. Abyss then hits the Black Hole Slam on Young. Magnus yells at Abyss to not cover him. Magnus gets in the ring and tells him no again. Magnus reasons with Abyss. Magnus goes to the top rope and hits the elbow drop. Magnus pins Young for the three-count to retain the title.

Winner: Magnus

Abyss watches Magnus celebrate in the ring as Impact ends.
