Two Big Names Set To Return To PWG On April 3, 2015

PWG always sets out to deliver with high paced action and spectacular talent. April 3rd will be no different. Expect the card to be flawless from top to bottom as usual. No main event or co-main event has been set yet, but two superstars that had the PWG world on their feet on their debuts are set to return to the PWG arena.

Mystery Vortex II was held March 28, 2014 and saw the debut of one of the best high flyers in the business in Andrew Everett. Everett (also known as The Chiva Kid) mesmerized the PWG fans with his unique aerial arsenal and high flying abilities. Everett jumps around the ring and flies gracefully through the air with ease. PWG fans witnessed a double rope plancha and a springboard shooting star press to the outside landing on his opponents Trevor Lee (who was also making his PWG debut and is no stranger to Everett in the ring) and Cedric Alexander. Everett then capitalized on the match hitting a picture perfect shooting star press on Alexander for the win. At the moment, it looked like Everett could be one of the new big dogs on the PWG roster. Unfortunately, Everett suffered a very severe knee injury in that match and had to have surgery. He has been recovering nicely and has even returned to action in other organizations. Everett is now ready to make his PWG return in April, and you can bet that he’ll return with style. Still no word if he’ll be returning for a one-on-one match or a match with multiple opponents like in his debut. Either way, you can bet that his match will be heavily talked about on April 4th.

Another top star in Zack Sabre Jr. will also be returning on the April 3rd card. Sabre is no secret to the wrestling world, and after his debut during PWG’s Bola 2014 (Battle of Los Angeles) tournament, all the fans that didn’t know him then, cant wait to see him back in action. Sabre made his PWG debut in a 6 man tag match with is partners Kenny Omega and Chuck Taylor as they took on The Young Bucks and Adam Cole. Sabre has been wrestling for over 10 years now, but is just finally getting the attention he so well deserves. After getting to wrestle with Adam Cole, he would step in the ring with him the following night in a first round match of the tournament. Cole was the obvious favorite when he stepped in the ring with the British superstar and had proclaimed before the match that he would walk through the young prospect and win the whole tournament. Fans quickly learned that not only was Cole going to have to taunt less and wrestle more, but that this new kid was the real deal. Fans witnessed grappling like they have never seen before and were in caught in shock and awe. After a very compelling back and forth match, Sabre was able to overcome the odds and catch Cole in a very unique pinning predicament. Fans literally jumped out of their seats as Sabre Jr. pinned the former PWG champion in the first round of Bola 2014. Cole’s mouth dropped as Sabre advanced and Cole was bumped out early. Easily one of the biggest shockers of night two.

On night 3, Sabre’s grappling skills would be put to the test against the (at the time) PWG champion Kyle O’Reilly. This is still one of the best matches I have seen in a long time. Both guys were somewhat mirror images of one another. Sabre relied more on his grappling background, as O’Reilly utilized his mma grappling as both guys delivered an exciting match. Sabre did end up losing the match, but was blasted all over every fans radar. Expect fireworks when Sabre steps back in the PWG ring April 3rd. With already facing two former PWG champs, I can expect his competition to be anything from subpar.

Tune in next time as we discuss the whole April 3rd card (once announced).
