UFC President Kills Rumors On Brock Lesnar’s Next Fight

UFC president Dana White killed a widely-spread rumor at the UFC 122 pre-fight “Question & Answer” session with UFC Fan Club members in Germany earlier this weekend.

According to reports, Brock Lesnar requested a fight with Ultimate Fighter winner Roy “Big Country” Nelson for his next trip to the octagon. White claims that is not true.

White claims Lesnar didn’t request the fight and when questioned on what he feels should be Lesnar’s next fight, White said he felt a rubber match with UFC rival Frank Mir would make sense on a number of levels.

Whether or not the portion of the reports that claimed Lesnar had no interest in fighting Mir a third time are true or not was not addressed.

One thing is for sure though, Mir himself stated in a recent interview that he is not interested in a third fight against Lesnar at this point in time. Mir noted his victory by knockout over PRIDE and K-1 legend Mirko CroCop in his last fight, mixed with the combo of Lesnar’s loss to Cain Velasquez in his last fight, how he lost, and how he squeeked by Shane Carwin prior to that after taking a beating, didn’t serve as the ingredients for a fight that excites him now that Lesnar is without the UFC heavyweight title.
