Update On Brian Gewirtz & WWE, SmackDown Social Media Score, Del Rio-Rodriguez Parody
- As PWMania.com previously reported, former WWE head writer Brian Gewirtz is back with the company. Gewirtz was taken off the writing team back in October, but still remained with WWE on the staff. He had been working from home via email and phone calls. As reported on earlier, he was brought on by WWE Champion The Rock to help out on his new reality show on TNT. He’s also always been the main guy who scripts The Rock’s WWE promos.
– This week’s WWE SmackDown episode had a 14% increase in social media activity. The show scored a 73,875 in social media activity compared to approximately 65,000 to last week.
The level was not as high as the Social Media SmackDown’s score of about 89,000, but it was the third-most-socially-active SmackDown of the year. SmackDown ranked #2 on cable TV for Friday night. This was SmackDown’s highest ranking of the year and their highest since November 16.
