Update On Chris Hero/ROH & Why He Hasn’t Been Booked Recently, Tommaso Ciampa

– Last December, Chris Hero made his Ring of Honor return at Final Battle, coming through the crowd after driving three hours through a storm from CZW’s Cage of Death in Philadelphia, to make the final segment of the show, knocking out Adam Cole and Matt Hardy, pronouncing he was back. Since April however, Hero hasn’t been featured in ROH after being taken out by The DECADE. In an update on why, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that ROH wanted Hero to sign a contract, but Hero wasn’t interested because of the amount of dates he was being contacted for. They agreed he would work some dates, which included him losing to Adam Cole twice for the ROH World Championship and losing to AJ Styles during his final appearance at Flyin’ High in Dayton, Ohio in April. However since then they haven’t been able to agree a date and Hero’s weight issues, which have picked up some attention due to unflattering photos now have ROH considering not using him at all unless he can slim down.

– Ring of Honor released the following promo by Tommaso Ciampa yesterday evening, featuring Ciampa requesting a rematch with Michael Elgin for the ROH World Championship, with their previous exchange coming in 2013 at Best in the World. You can view the promo below.
