The New Haven Register has published an article updating the status of Tammy Sytch’s recent arrest.
The article notes Sytch showed up to court yesterday dressed in sweats, slippers and handcuffed at the wrist. While crying, she told her story about how she was assaulted by Damien Darling, the man she was ordered to stay away from. Sytch was arrested January 25th for violating that court order. Sytch’s lawyer claims that Sytch was “lured” to Darling’s home. When the two had met, the claim says she was given an engagement ring and asked to move back in.
Once at the residence, Sytch said she was attacked by Darling and then drank and “self medicated” herself the day after the attack. Sytch said in court, “I don’t think it’s fair to me. I was the one abused.”
Sytch then filed a criminal complaint against Darling in Bradford, CT yesterday and police are investing her allegations. She was treated by medical personal and hospitalized after reporting the alleged assault.
However, according to her police reports, she was given a key and had been living with Darling for two weeks time. When police found her after Darling notified the police she had been there, she was found by law enforcement hiding in a bathroom shower.
Sytch was arraigned yesterday and the judge remanded her to be held in lieu of $100,000 cash bond. Her lawyer asked that the court have her mental health evaluated. The case will continue on February 7, 2013.
